Yeah, that really bugged me. After letting the Eagles get away with it I don't know how they could blatently miss that call with ARE. Even Ache-man saw it.

I know he wasn't. We got jipped. It showed the replay a lot of times and he def. wasn't touched. BS call.

He should have had that td. ****ing refs!

I too wonder why the whistle never blew, and there was no televised evidence that El was touched.

Just another TD taken away from ARE and Campbell. Pretty anoying seeing is how Campbell should have 8 TDs now

The most irritating part is the fact that they let him run, and then blew the whistle before he got to the goal line.

They had plenty of time to think about it, and the most obvious option is to not blow the whistle and let the play be reviewed. Absolutely foolish, which would certainly be appropriate given the level of officiating all year long all across the NFL.

9 if you count the DEvin Thomas TD

This time it's even worse than in the Giants game. The ref closes to the play doesn't blow it, but some guy half way on the other end thinks he's had a better angle? Are you ****ing kidding me.

That was complete BS, they should've let the play continue and let them challenge if they thought he was down, but the refs dictated that play by blowing it dead.

I'm sick of this exact same kind of play being robbed from us. Refs need to get their act together.

...

NOT!

Agreed, the call was total BS

agreed. Just like they let Reggie Brown get up and keep running.

actually the Eagles defender did touch him on the shoulder when he was down. It was hard to see on the replays they showed on TV but they showed 1 good angle and you could see he was deffinately touched.

Agreed.

I just don't understand how the refs can continually and intentionally blow controversial plays dead prematurely so that they cannot reviewed -- and overturned, if necessary.

Personally, as I've felt for years, there's some kind of referee conspiracy. I can't imagine, other than shear ego, why a referee feels the need to blow a potentially questionable play dead.... and eliminating any possibility of making sure the correct play is called.

I mean, to me, that's the bottom line. The most important thing. Getting the correct call made. Regardless if it was done live or via replay.

The fact that referees have always questioned replay..... blow plays dead prematurely so that certain plays cannot be reviewed.... and often times review replays and STILL make the incorrect call.... wreaks of something fishy.

Something isn't right.

That's 4 times now I think (Devin Thomas TD, Randle El TD, CP TD, and today) that the refs have called back big play touchdowns for us. It's very frustrating

Reminds me of when the 3 refs threw their flags out for the illegal block in the back and then it gets called back. I guess all 3 of the refs accidentally threw them out at the same time. Silly me!

Skins still won.

Hail to the Redskins!

I did not think he was touched either. It didn't even look close. It's kind of funny. The refs made a bad call that nullified a would be TD in the 4th. In the first quarter, they made the correct call, and took it back giving the Eagles a TD. 2 calls, a 14 point swing the Eagles way, and we still won the game!!!! Way to play skins. That's a solid win.

I never saw that, and I was looking. If someone recorded, can they post a screen cap?

WOW I JUST noticed that too!

We should have scored at least 30 and won big time. w/e a wins a win and we will win by 30 next week vs the Rams. lol

Im not convinced he wasnt touched, but what really bothered me, and struck me as beyond stupid and incompetent on the part of that ref, was WHY do you let him run all the way down to the 20, and THEN blow the whistle? At that point, whats the point? Just wait a couple more seconds.

No Excuses
October-5th-2008, 11:08 PM
The ref who had a clear view of the play never blew the whistle. The other dumbass ref, who had no field of view on the play, after Randle El got up and started sprinting to the endzone blew the play dead.

 Campbell gets a TD stolen from him three weeks in a row.

He definitely was not touched. My first thought on this was, WAS THE OFFICIAL WITH THE EXTREME LATE WHISTLE ON THIS PLAY, THE SAME OFFICIAL THAT OVERRULED THE ILLEGAL BLOCK ON THE PUNT RETURN??

If so, we have a crooked NFL official, just like the dude that got fired from the NBA for cheating.

Anyone know yet if these 2 were the same guy?

also its funny how the refs blew the whistle when it was clear he was about to score. ****ING REFS, HOW MUCH DID THE IGGLES PAY YOU, OH WAIT IT DOES NOT MATTER BECAUSE WE ****ING WON ****ERS

I honestly couldn't tell from the angles I saw on TV. But I know that there was obvious confusion by the refs which means they should have let him score and then reviewed the play. Didn't they learn anything from the Ed Hochuli incidents? I was also trying to see Randle El's reaction after the whistle, which I really couldn't see either. In my experience, players usually give a different response when they WANT to be right, as opposed to when they KNOW they're right. Oh well. Sooner or later, the call will go our way. Hopefully, when we need it most.

Don't forget we also got shafted on D. Jackson's punt return for TD when they called the clipping penalty and then picked it up.

To me, El stopping short of the end zone was a bad sign. But I sure would like to see some photographic proof, and an explanation of why the whistle wasn't blown. If refs aren't sure when to end a play, people will end up hurt because of it.
