Welp...here we go again!

DALLAS -- Washington Wizards (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=was) forward Antawn Jamison (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=385) left his team's preseason opener against the Dallas Mavericks (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=dal) with a sprained right knee.Jamison's leg buckled while playing defense midway through the first quarter Tuesday night, and he had to be helped to the locker room by teammates. A team spokesman said Jamison was out for the rest of the game.

This team is cursed. On a positive note, if he is out long enough, it could give Blatche a great chance to establish himself on this team. He has 15 points right now at half against the Mavs.

You got to be effin kidding me. Why does this team get ass raped with injuries every year? The starters should pull a Portis and say F the preseason.

Sounds bad, hopefully it isn't.

It should be okay for y'all. I was listening to some of the game on the radio and the Dallas announcers said it was only a strain and not a sprain. He should be fine. :)

PS- go Mavs! :D

Horrible, Jamison in particular seems to get injured all the time. God forbid there is any ligament damage. Sit him for the rest of the preseason if necessary to get him back to 100%.

And Haywood may be out for 4-6 months.

Just fantastic.

WTF where did you hear this?

EDIT: Nevermind just found out, it's if he gets the wrist surgery which he's leaning towards. God damn can we just get one whole year with decent health? At this point I'd consider trading Butler while he still has all his limbs intact...

I thought the Wizards were finally over all this bad luck. Guess not. Hopefully Antwan and Brendan get back soon along with Agent Zero so we can shut up Lebron in April

The only thing that good from the game was the play of McGee, his dunk over Howard was nice.......otherwise the Washington Curse has come early this year...

Here we go again. Another 40 win, first round fodder season.

I honestly think this is the best thing for the team long-term. It gives Blatche a chance to assert himself as a second option. Without Haywood, our defense is going to be the worst in the NBA and we are not going to win even 40 games. I'd rather suck Miami Heat style and land Rubio or Griffin. And then in 2009, you have a core of Arenas, BUtler, Jamison, Haywood, a vastly-developed Blatche, McGee, Young, and Rubio/Griffin. Now that's a team that is going to make some noise.

I have to agree...is there any way for us to tank the season like the Spurs when they landed Timmy D the year after?

And the thing is that we aren't completely depending on the lottery for this draft. It is 5-deep. Even if we can't get Rubio, DeRozan, or Griffin, we can still get Brandon Jennings or BJ Mullen. Assuming Blatche gets it this season, at the very minimum, you have a very attractive trade package for a superstar PF/C using any combo of Blatche, Nick, McGee, top 5 pick, and Daniels/Etan as expiring contracts.

Put me in the tank the season camp, we are going nowhere this year.

^^^ actually we looked pretty good last night, great to see Etan out there, he had 8 points and this Javale McGee kid was playing strong. Mcgee ended with 20 on 8 for 12 shooting...Not sure why Juan didnt play but oh well...

Heywood maybe out 6 months, Gil out until December/January and Jamison out with a sprain. Geez, the curse of Les Boullez/Wizez is in full force. Even if we tank, the league will fix it to give the first pick to someone else. They threw us a bone with Kwame Brown. The next 3 drafts had Yao Ming, LeBron James and Dwight Howard as the 3 number ones.

it looks like no one paid attention to my post. hahaha

Jamison apparently has a strain, and not a sprain. Actually, after looking again, it is now just a bruise, and he should be good to go for the opener.

You don't get it dude. This team is cursed like no other. We have a storm cloud over our head that shoots out lightning bolts of injury bugs to our players year in and year out. You don't have to worry about that you have the Mavericks...who are ironically just like the Cowboys. Breeze through the regular season and fall flat on their faces in the postseason:)

yeah, the Wiz definitely have horrible luck with injuries. That I won't argue, b/c I know it's true.

but the Mavs won some playoff series. :(

The curse of Les Boullez continues.
