View Full Version : Looking for Jersey (vendor)

I've been told that the Skins are going to wear burgundy jerseys for their last four home games. That means "starting Monday night, two weeks from tonight, against the Steelers".

I'm considering getting another jersey.

Right now, I've got a custom, authentic, Cartwright, in white, and a replica Portis in white. (And a replica D Green, in burgundy.)

I'm thinking what I want is a burgundy Fletch. Although I wouldn't mind Cooley or Portis at all. (Mostly I'm thinking Fletch because I assume so many fewer people have his jersey, and I want to spread things around.)

Anybody know where I could order one, and have a decent chance of being able to wear it for the Monday Night game?

Or should I just go for a Portis or Cooley from redskins.com (which appears to have them in stock)?

Observing that redskins.com won't even allow me to order a custom authentic.

And nflshop.com doesn't offer an authentic Portis. Moss and Landry (white) JC and Cooley (white or red).

nflshop will allow me to order a custom authentic, and they say they'll ship in 5-7 business days. But the fastest shipping option they offer is "Ground 3-5 days".

Just be careful of NFL.com. I've heard horror stories from folks ordering off of there. I believe some of our ES'ers have had a rough time with them.

But not in time for the Steelers game.

(If they'd offer faster shipping, it might get here in time. But apparently they won't allow any shipping faster than ground.)

You're not coming up, are you? I wasn't planning (read: can't afford) on going to anymore games. But I'd definitely get there for that.

I had a custom replica made from there. #28 and it said DC on the back (my initials, nickname, and of course, home of the Redskins). The numbers started slowly peeling the same day (Christmas!) After one wash, the numbers were torn to shreds.

At least they refunded it.

I found these burgundy Fletchers for $60. They're replicas.

I'll let you know if I find any cheaper (may have to consider this myself).

Nah, I want authentic. If I "have to", I'll just go with a Cooley or Portis. Mostly I just didn't want to look like a bandwagon fan. I wanted a jersey that only real fans would recognize.

(I've been really impressed with how many people compliment me on my Cartwright jersey. LOTS of fans recognize his number.)

If I was going to buy an authentic, I'd get one of the brand new ones for 2008. The fact that they're new makes them cool. I know you want a burgundy, but one of these white ones is the one I'd buy: Landry 30 or Taylor 55. Plus, they have the brand new NFL logo. You can get these on one of the normal retail sites, but this guy has them cheaper, and I'm convinced they're legit:

Plus there's an eBay code going around that may save you another 10%:

What's not to like?

Granted, I don't know how authoritative he is, but . . .

(I suggested that I wanted us to go to burgundy, because @ Dallas and @ Philly, they "made" us wear burgundy, and I think we played pretty good in those uniforms. And frankly, I'd rather the Monday Night game have us in burgundy and ths Steelers in white than us white and them black.)

Some of you are getting your wish. Burgundy jerseys on white pants at home for the last 4 games.Hmm. I don't know. I'd like to see the above post qualified somehow...

I don't know if I'd go out and buy a burgundy jersey based on this. I'm partial to white jerseys myself... but if the team did take the field in burgundy, I'd also want to wear burgundy in the stands, if possible.
