Two come to the top of my mind:

Louis Armstrong: What a Wonderful World- sure, it's hokey, but every time it comes on the radio I let it play and just enjoy it. The man couldn't carry a tune, but boy could he sing and what a lovely song.

Ray Charles: God Bless America... I love both versions.

Are there any standards that are somehow always fresh to you and will always be great songs that no matter how many times you have heard them, you will stop to listen if it's playing?

When me and the boyz were teenheadbangerrockers into Floyd & Zep & King Crimson etc etc we would also break out Harry James, Buddy Rich, and Duke Ellington and just zone into my 9 foot long 700 pound $5500 (1972 price) JBL Paragon driven (bi-amped) by big McIntosh amps (tube on mid/tweets--solid state on woofs--crown vfx-2 electronic x-over). :cloud9:

Then the other we did was all things Motown. (RIP Levi).
