too bad we couldn't do anything on that 9 minute PP...never the less, shades of Jason Doig...jk about the Doig part, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better open ice hit since Scotty Stevens was patroling our blueline.

Yeah, he performed one of those hits during the preseason as well. I made a mental note of him when I saw it. When my dad told me they called up a defenseman from the AHL who wasn't Karl Alzner, I knew it had to be him.

Yeah...I guess the one "positive" to come out of last night was Theodore's play...that's the type of goaltending we expected and need. Hopefully, the Caps can rebound against PHX. I can handle losses...what is unacceptable is not doing ANYTHING on a 9 minute PP. That is unacceptable.

It was 9 minutes of penalties, but only 7 minutes of PP. We took a penalty, so 2 minutes were 4 on 4 - not that makes it much better. Last night was the worst we've looked all season, just plain sloppy. We couldn't connect on an offensive zone pass to save our lives - even on the rare occasion they were on target they just bounced off the receiver's tape. Penalties galore didn't help either. Theodore finally plays a good game and the rest of the team screws the pooch.

I have to agree....while I loved seeing the hit, I didn't like seeing Bourque roughing him up afterwards....he should have paid the price later in the game....we have a ton of skill, but outside of Brash and Erskine, there is a HUGE dropoff as far as talent when it comes to throwing hands. No disrespect to Bradley, but when was the last time he won a fight?

I watched the game last night & saw the hit. I was like "whoa"...I couldn't believe we got a 9 min. power play. Was disappointed didn't come up with anything afterwards. Dang...the Caps need to chill on all the penalties though (um..Mike Green, Dave Steckel, no more penalty box stuff). Jose Theodore is getting a little better now that he's 2 weeks into the new season. Slowly I'm liking his blocking, although he had a good night last night w/all the blocks even though Flames won. Go Caps and GO SKINS!!
