so what happens if Texas wins out, OU wins out, and TT only loses to OU

then you have 3 one loss teams who have beaten each other.....who goes to the Big 12 championship game? What is the tie breaker?

At that point, the team ranked highest in the BCS goes to the conference championship.

so if it does play out like this....that team would probably be Oklahoma (being that it would mean that OU had knocked off #2 Texas Tech)

It doesn't matter though...If UF goes undefeated the rest of the regular season (which probably will happen) and Alabama goes through the rest of the regular season undefeated (which might happen) the winner of that game will get into the BCS championship before anyone in the Big 12

I hate to get into hypotheticals like this right now when there are so many different situations that could still play out, and OU still has their work cut out for them to even have an argument, but I'll bite.

I think a Big 12 Champ OU (big if at this point) has a perfectly good chance of going in rather than a SEC champ Florida if there's only one spot, and think that probably ought to be the case if it came down to it. I'm not saying Florida isn't very good team that is playing terrific football right now, but here's why:

-Florida has a razor thin lead over OU in the BCS right now after leapfrogging them as a result of their impressive win over Georgia. Fair enough.

-Florida's remaining schedule is Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Citadel, and Florida State (+Bama, potentially). If Florida State stumbles between now and then (I can't quite figure out what I think about that team...), Alabama could potentially be the only ranked opponent remaining on the schedule. OU's remaining schedule is A&M, Tech, and OSU (+Big 12 North Champ, likely a Missouri team hovering around #10). Even if Florida remains one spot above OU in the Harris poll, there's no way they jump them in the Coach's with that set up, and I think the difference in the computers (especially if TCU keeps winning and helping OU out) alone would be enough for OU to pass Florida.

-AP voters might come around if OU pulled off the wins to take the Big 12 (again a BIG if, we have a lot of work left to do and I'm not presuming anything or getting my hopes up.) seeing as how the perception of the SEC as the only elite conference this year is not present as it has been in recent years.

-Another factor will, of course, look the teams' losses. OU against Texas on a neutral field, UF against Ole Miss at home.

Again, I have no idea how it will all play out. If Texas Tech can't beat OSU, it's more or less a moot point unless Texas loses to Kansas (if we beat Tech and they have 2 B12 losses, we would be forced into a tiebreaker with Texas we would lose, rather than the 3 way tie that seemingly would be advantageous to our title hopes). We also have a lot to do ourselves, and while I'm hopeful, would need some luck to get there. I think Florida is a damn good football team, and I don't know what situation will unfold, but I think if both win their conferences like described, OU would be the choice.

The Big 12-SEC teams still have a murders row to get through

Florida is starting to really assert itself and 'Bama will have its hands full

Texas Tech still faces Oklahoma and Oklahoma St

Plenty of time left boys :) If you remember last season, anything can happen in November

Tried to express that same sentiment in my post, although maybe I failed to do so adequately. I couldn't agree more ... the only thing predictable about college football these days seems to be its unpredictability.

It is clear looking at the BCS if you have 1 loss teams in the Big 12 and SEC they will be playing in the title game, no matter what PSU does.

Right now it is looking like that, the question is which teams will it be??

I don't believe that for a second. We shall see.

Look at the latest BCS standings, Texas and Florida are going to pass PSU if they win out.

They need the voters to pass them though too. Which, I doubt will happen should PSU win out.

You think the BCS will stay the same with several weeks still remaining??? LOL

Look, if PSU goes undefeated . . . they'll be in the NC.

If PSU wins out, they'll be playing in Miami.

I agree that PSU will probably go to Miami if they win out. Of course, they'll probably be annihilated by whomever they face, but what are you gonna do?

In my humble opinion, I believe all the following teams to be better than PSU

Texas
OU
TT
Alabama
Florida
OK state
USC
