The Bruce Boudreau Bobblehead made my night. The game was alright, too.

Five in a row. Ovie is back. Goaltending is looking good. 22 points and first place. Let's complete the sweep tomorrow in Jersey.

That one stick save by Theodore was absolutely amazing....my god.
Hopefully Semin is alright!

I thought we were on top of our offensive game all night and could have easily ended up with three or four more goals. However, our defense left a few holes and Theodore looks a little shaky. He made some great saves, but left some bad rebounds and didn't look entirely comfortable inside the crease. Two players that have really stood out to me this year are Flash and Boyd Gordon. Flash looks like a different player. He's more physical, faster and playing better around the puck and as a result his production is way up. Gordon hasn't really showed on the scoring sheets, but his play is also noticeably faster. As well, he is doing a great job of forechecking and getting turnovers in the offensive zone. He's creating opportunities for other players and I see his potential, finally. And as always, Jeff Schultz is the worst player in the NHL. He's improved from last year, too, but he's still the worst.
That breakaway goal was either entirely Erskines fault or the guy who came on for him. Our miscues with line changes have already caused us a significant number of penalties, and last night's breakaway was just another example of how important efficient changes are. "Good is not good enough."

Eric Fehr had a few chances to put the puck in the net but missed. I really like him on this team though. I hope we keep giving him a chance and not pull an Eminger on him.

That was Sloan - so I would have to say it was probably the rookie's fault (though I'm not positive).
Any word on Semin?

Ovechkin scores game tieing goal with <1 second LOL
We shouldn't even be in this game our D has played so poorly, thankfully Theodore has been on fire.

We should just concede the second point and not even bother in SO's in all honesty. Happy with 1 point.
Why the hell is Gordon shooting in the SO anyway? lol

The buzzer beater
Unbelievable. Even with a "loss" this feels like a win. I'll take the point

he's pretty good. don't judge someone's shootout ability on their regular game play.

What is Boyd Gordon doing in the shootout? And why does BB continue to put OV in shootout situations, for some reason he stinks. Nylander and Backstrom shoulda been given a chance.

Personally I would have preferred Nylander, Backstrom or Flash over Gordon. But like I said, 1 point from that game is more than we deserved.

Yeah. We made all the hard shots, but missed all the easy shots. Another one of those games we should have won but lost with sloppy defensive play and poor shoot out performance.
I got the bobblehead sitting on my computer though, wish the trophy was angled more to the side so the head didn't hit it every time. I like to tap my heel a lot when I'm sitting and it makes my desk wiggle a little and Bruce's head is going a mile a minute.

Yeah, not sure why Backstrom wasn't in the shootout with the game he played. Oh well, I'm very happy with stealing the 1 point.

Watching all the games on various teams, including the Capitals, my question is, why are the players "loping" towards the goal on a shootout attempt? Take someone like Ovie. Wouldn't he better if he tried to get up to speed? I've noticed this alot with almost all of the players. I think I'd get a running start and try to some at the goalie hard and fast like on a breakaway. Maybe if Ovie would speed up, he'd do better at shootouts.

Yeah, Brad Richards has the speed approach. He just skates in as hard as possible and either goes forehand or backhand...I'm not sure what his percentage is, but he really goes hard after it.
