Who we want in bold.
Obvious ones:
NYG @ WAS
SEA @ DAL
ARI @ PHI
Others:
ATL @ SD (obvious: NFC wildcard vs. AFC)
CAR @ GB (I guess we want CAR so GB drops out?)
Ones I'm not sure who we want:
NO @ TB
CHI @ MIN

I'd want to see the Packers in the playoffs before the Panthers.

ow. My brain hurts.Maybe. The way I figure it, if GB loses, they drop to 5 and 7, making it VERY hard to get a wildcard (would likely have to win all 4, and they might not make it even WITH that). If they win, they're 6-6, and could win 3 of their last 4. Carolina vs. TB is interesting. Let's just have GB lose, and voila, one less wildcard foe. :2cents:

Definitely want GB over Carolina... they are tied with Tampa for the division. If they don't win the division.. they have us by a game. GB is 2 games back.
TB @ NO.. probably want TB to win and go closer to taking the division. Have a better chance at winning a wild card over Carolina.
CHI @ MIN.. definitely want Chicago to win... knock Minny another game back and hope Chicago takes the division.
Also.. really need Dallas and Atlanta to lose.

I would take TB over NO because I'm assuming that Carolina and TB are going to get a division title and WC in some order, and beating NO takes them farther out of WC contention, though the 'Skins do own the head-to-head tie break with them
I'm pulling for Min. Here's why: If the 'Skins get in, they will have to go on the road, and I would prefer to play Minn. in Minn in January rather than the Bears in Soldier Field in Jan. They might play neither, but the NFC North winner is going to be the #4 seed (probably). If the 'Skins are the #6 seed, it will be either TB/Carolina or 'Zona as the #3 seed. If we have to travel to freakin' TB AGAIN I'm going to throw something.
I'm assuming that GB is DONE and out of the race.
That loss to Dallas at home is HUGE. They are going to really push for the Playoffs now. Sigh. I hate Dallas.

We want Carolina to lose. That would be their 4th NFC loss and get us the tiebreaker against them.
We want Tampa to lose. They only have 2 NFC losses, we need them to start losing some NFC games plus we already have the head to head with NO.
We want Chicago to beat Minnesota. Bears already have 4 NFC losses. The Vikes have 3 like we do. We want Minnesota to get their 4th NFC loss.

We want NO to win because we beat them head to head and they have a worse record then Tampa.

We DO NOT want Tampa to lose.
Someone must win that division.
We DO NOT want Carolina to make some move to win that division and leave Tampa in the wild card hunt.
We want Tampa to win and basically knock NO out of the running.. NO is only 2 games back

As tight as this race is, Im not sure 10-6 is guaranteed a playoff spot. If we want a sure spot in the playoffs, we can only lose 1 more game. We shouldn't have to depend on anyone but us to get into the playoffs.

There seems to be a lot of confusion here...
Tampa and Carolina are both 8-3...
they are in the same division.. only one will win it.
We want Tampa to win the division.

I really hope that when it comes to week 17 that I'm not hoping for the Eagles to have to beat the Cowboys so that the Redskins can be in the playoffs.
A lot can be made better with a win over the Giants on Sunday.

We want the Panthers to lose. They could slip out of the playoffs completely. I think we want Tampa to lose. I would take Minny to lose, maybe better for us.
Honestly, they are 4 teams that are in contention for the 2 wild cards.
Carolina, Alanta and Tampa are fighting for the NFC South. Only one of the three will win the South, the other 2 will be contention for the wild card. Dallas and Washington are the other 2 teams.
I don't see anyone from the NFC North realistically contending for a wild card.

I'd think we'd want any team with an equal or better record than us to lose:
so, you want the packers to beat Carolina
and you want NO to beat TB (plus we have the tiebreak on NO anyway)
Chi/Min game- either.

Of course we want Dallas to lose every week. I'm worried about Arizona coming across country on a short week to play at Philly, but I think Arizona pulls out a squeaker. Yes we want Atlanta to lose, but I doubt SD will come through, we want GB to beat Carolina. Only 1 team is coming out of the North, and let the 3 mediocre teams, GB, Chi, and Minn beat the hell out of each other for that one spot. I want to see TB win to basically eliminate N.O. from the wild card race. It doesn't matter who wins the Chicago/Minnesota game.

We want Tampa to win the division.
At this point I'd agree since they only have 2 NFC losses and we have 3, however also at this point I'd prefer to have all options on the table and that would include Tampa.
Eventually one of those 3 (Carolina, Tampa, Atlanta) will win that division and no longer be an issue for us, but we're too far out right now to say who it will be so I'd rather have all 3 lose and get us on even footing (or ahead) of them and not have to worry about who wins the division.
Besides New Orleans isn't a threat unless they run the table and we lose a couple of games since we got them head to head.
I still think we root for New Orleans to take out Tampa this week.

Well, at least we all agree we want us, SEA, ARI, and SD, right?
