Lepisto Sent Down

The Caps just confirmed John Walton's report out of Hershey that defenseman Sami Lepisto has been assigned to the Bears.

The move comes one day after Lepisto had a tough night in Carolina. But more importantly it means that one of the Caps' regular defenseman will probably be ready to play on Wednesday against Boston. Mike Green (bruised shoulder) and Tom Poti (groin muscle pull) are the likely candidates.

We'll know more tomorrow when the players return to practice.

Finally some good news pertaining to injuries. Would be a sight for sore eyes to see a guy coming back from injury as opposed to leaving because of injury.

I would've thought that Sloan would've been closer than Poti but, my oh my, Mike Green would be a sight for sore eyes.

Lepisto is supposed to be an offensive D, right? Green's an offensive D... :fingersx:

Good news, though I doubt it hints at whether it's Green or Poti that is coming back. At this point, Lepisto makes the most sense. Alzner is learning and will be part of the regular squad by season's end. Helmer is a grizzled vet who's been playing very comfortably in the big's. I suppose Collins could have been the odd man out, but based on Lepisto's play against Carolina, he seems the logical choice (though he does have a wicked slapshot). Hopefully it is Green though.

I'll just be glad when Green and Poti are back in the lineup.

According to Tarik, Tyler Sloan is definitely back in the lineup tomorrow. Green is doubtful and Poti is a no go. I'm thinking it's just Sloan coming back. Maybe Karl Alzner gets some time on the PP.

Way to piss in my corn flakes....What I wouldn't pay to have Tarik's job....

At least someone is coming back. I'd rather it be Green or Poti.
