I would love for Orakpo to fall to us but I know, it's not gonna happen!

Brian Orakpo, Texas (DE)
Height: 6-4. Weight: 260.
Projected 40 Time: 4.66.
Projected Round (2009): Top 5 Pick.
Brian Orakpo has been dominant this season, registering 13 TFL ands 8.5 sacks in nine games. He'll thrive at the combine as well, so it's likely he'll be a top-three selection come April.

Adam Ulatoski*, Texas (OT)
Height: 6-8. Weight: 310.
Projected 40 Time: 5.19.
Projected Round (2009): 2-3.
An imposing figure on the offensive line with his 6-8 frame, Adam Ulatoski is a solid run-blocker who can play guard. An honorable mention for the All-Big XII Team.

Malcolm Jenkins, Ohio State (CB)
Height: 6-1. Weight: 202.
Projected 40 Time: 4.40.
Projected Round (2009): Top 10 Pick.
I'll be shocked if Malcolm Jenkins doesn't get drafted in the top 10, barring a poor combine. Jenkins has 54 tackles, 3.5 TFL and two blocked kicks.

Marcus Freeman, Ohio State (OLB)
Height: 6-2. Weight: 242.
Projected 40 Time: 4.60.
Projected Round (2009): 2-3.
Voted to the All-Big Ten Second Team, Marcus Freeman finished the season with 76 tackles, nine TFL and 3.5 sacks.

James Laurinaitis, Ohio State (ILB)
Height: 6-3. Weight: 243.
Projected 40 Time: 4.54.
Projected Round (2009): Top 20 Pick.
The top 4-3 inside linebacker in this class, James Laurinaitis has 121 tackles, 5.5 TFL and four sacks as a senior. He was a first-team All-American.

I like Marcus Freeman alot....if we could get him with a mid round pick it would be pretty nice.

I'd take a look at the end and the tackle from Texas. But I'm going to stay away from the rest.

I pass on Orakpo, he's just another Andre Carter.

Cedric Dockery is another one to watch, although I don't think he's as good as his brother and might not be drafted.

The sad truth?

We could wind up with the best players in the league.....and we would still have no idea what to do wth them.

I've heard he was better than Derrick, but he's been injured all season with a knee injury. He Probably would have been a 2nd-3rd round pick now he's looking at maybe 5th round or later.

If VC can manage a trade, Alex Boone would be someone I would consider selecting to plug in at RT.

We could come away with a quality OT and OC.

FYI..

Cedric Dockery, Texas (OG)
Height: 6-4. Weight: 320.
Projected 40 Time: 5.24.
Projected Round (2009): 4-5.
Despite tearing his ACL in 2006, Cedric Dockery bounced back to play pretty well in 2007.

Not a very good season for Alex Boone, though problems on the rest of Ohio State's front can attribute to that.

Orakpo is showing some serious speed of the edge, against Boone causing a hold on like the first play of the game

They're also running most plays away from his side. :2cents:

great info.. thanks...

and check out my boy tim ryan calling the game... he's the antithesis of most color guys... he talks X's and O's, giving the viewer some credit, instead of the obvious drivel most guys say over and over...

Most of the DEs inthe the 1st round projection are bound to play LB. With that said I think that drafting a guy like E. Brown or orakpo or jerry Hughes who is the latest guy projected to go to us, is not that bad of an idea. We would be beneficial of being able rush him standing up or with his hand down kinda like D. Ware is used in Dallas

Chris Beanie Wells, Ohio State running back.
Height 6'1" Weight 237.
Projected 40 time: 4.4

Chris "Beanie" Wells is an elite running back prospect. Former Ohio State great Archie Griffin recently said that he thinks Wells is the closest thing he's ever seen to Jim Brown. This may a bit of a stretch this early in Beanie's career, but he has a chance to be something special. Wells is the most physically gifted running back in this class. At 6'1" and 237 pounds, Wells still reportedly runs the 40 yard dash in the 4.4 second range. Wells has a tendency to take a play off now and again by not hitting the hole at full speed. This is an issue that will be resolved quickly in the NFL, when he realizes defenses are just too good not to get into the hole fast. There may also be a few GMs that are worried about his hands. Wells has only caught 13 passes in his career at Ohio State for 50 yards. He doesn't appear to have bad hands on film, just very untested ones (which could limit him to being a two down back in the pros). Even with some small flaws in his game, it's hard to argue with his production rushing the football. In 31 games during his short collegiate career, Wells has rushed for 2804 yards and has 26 touchdown runs. Wells' running style will translate nicely to the pros, because he runs with tremendous power and shakes off the first tackle in most instances. He also has the speed to get to the outside, and makes beautiful cutbacks while he runs. The foot injury that kept Wells out of 3 and a half games seems to have healed just fine, and will keep his stock from dropping in most scouts eyes. The only thing that will keep Wells out of the top ten is the lack of need at running back by many of the teams that will be selecting at the top of the draft.

Also to watch tonight: shots of Colt McCoy's girlfriend in the stands.

I've chosen to watch Boone most of the game, because the draft sites are calling him one of the better RT prospects. Boone is doing average in pass protection (holding call + one serious pressure from Orapko but no sacks yet) but very well in run blocking for Beenie.

On a different note, Chris Wells would look real nice in burgundy and gold.

You know if he falls to the Skins, it could trigger trade opportunities. I see Tampa and AZ looking at a running back. There could be some bidding going on.

Alex Boone is a solid tackle who's stock slid. We should be able to snag in in the third.

He's been doing a good job against Orakpo. Bet this game moves him up the board.

I watched just a bit of the game and Orakpo blew buy Boone and almost caused Boekman to throw a pick early in the game. I am hoping he doesn't look "too" good so we can snag him.;)

Some mocks have him going 8 or 9. I don't see him as an immediate starter or worth a top 10. At least, not after watching this game.

Laurinitus was all over the field. So was their safety, name escapes me. Colt McCoy has the it factor.
