TOLEDO, Ohio – Joe The Plumber is putting down his wrenches and picking up a reporter's notebook.

The Ohio man who became a household name during the presidential campaign says he is heading to Israel as a war correspondent for the conservative Web site pjtv.com.

Samuel J. Wurzelbacher (WUR'-zuhl-bah-kur) says he'll spend 10 days covering the fighting.

He tells WNWO-TV in Toledo that he wants to let Israel's "'Average Joes' share their story."

Wurzelbacher gained attention during the final weeks of the campaign when he asked Barack Obama about his tax plan.

He later joined Republican John McCain on the campaign trail. At one stop, he agreed with a McCain supporter who asked if he believed a vote for Obama was a vote for the death of Israel.

Really?! I mean I realize I'm living proof that you need no special skills to be a reporter, but this guy's fifteen minutes were up several hours ago. Didn't he turn out to be a fraud... and is anyone really interesting in his analysis or reporting? This is a ratings stunt that likely won't even make for entertaining diversion.

Yup, something like that. If memory serves he wasn't a "real" plumber. His premise was false (his business would make more under Obama's plan) and he continued going with the false info even after finding out. He was a crook/tax evader (owed the gov't money) He was also a fraud in that he pretended to be an undecided voter, but that part is cool. Even decided voters ought to be free to try to ask candidates questions.

So not only does he think he's deserving of any job he wants now but he's also got divine preference. Wow. The country is watching this egomaniac's head expand by the day.

I'm pretty sure decided voters don't have to misrepresent themselves just to ask a question. Although if that is the case it would answer the question of why so many partisans claim to be indys.
