Thanks ACW for starting a BCS Title game thread. I was going to start one, but you beat me to it. GO GATORS!! I"ve been going through Gators football withdrawal since they won the SEC Championship game. I"m so excited. I hope I can concentrate at work today. I'm wearing my FL Gators stuff at work. Who cares if I'm having a party for one for tonight's game. I'm just happy I get to watch my guys one more time. THis will be a very intense and interesting game: Heisman winner against Heisman winner (hopefully my guy & his team will win though).

The BCS system sucks, but as far as voting teams into a championship game, these are the 2 i would have picked.
Still, Utah is getting hosed.
I have Florida winning by 10, but i will probably root for OU.

Thank god we have a two-team, one-round playoff in college football these days, so we can figure out which of these two teams will actually win in a head-to-head game played on a real field.
It's just a shame that there are more than two qualified contestants for the game, as there often are around this time of the year.
It sure would be nice to expand the size of the existing playoff, to reflect the BCS's clear inability to guarantee that the pool of worthy champions-in-waiting is only two deep.

I'd be willing to bet a few of them do:
Jeff demps
chris rainey
percy harvin
will all run at least 4.3 at the combine
either way...florida is much faster than OU and OU's defense is garbage
I expect a shoot out game, I don't think either defense will stop the other offense much.
This might be a game where the last team who has the ball and scores at the end wins type game

OU's offense is overrated? That's the most ridiculous thing on this board. The fewest amount of points they've scored in a game is 35. They'll score 40+ tonight. This is the greatest offense in FBS history. It's ridiculous how good they are.

4 different teams in OUs conference AVERAGED more than 40 pts a game in offense.
Are all 4 of those offenses the best in history? Or do all of the defenses just suck hard?

OU averaged 54. They beat Texas Tech, 62-21, Missouri, 62-21, Oklahoma State, 61-41, and, of course, loss to Texas, 45-35. OU's defense isn't bad. To hold all of those, except Texas, under their average is pretty damn good for a team with no defense.

Can you please go through that list of opponents, one by one, and note how many of those teams have even played in a national title game in the last thirty years? Forget about winning one.....I mean just playing in one.
Texas Tech? Please.
Missouri? This is a joke, right?
Oklahoma State? Do they have a men's football program?
Texas? One year with Vince Young....30 other years of nothing.
Why would beating any of those teams above make you think that Oklahoma is a good team?
It is like Ohio State beating teams in the little 10 conference. Who cares?
We all know what happens when OSU has to play a real team.....and tonight should be no different with 0-4 BCS Oklahoma.

McD5. Come on, Florida lost to Ole Miss at home. How the hell is that a good loss (makes you wonder why USC didn't get in instead; losing on the road is better than losing at home). Frankly, here's what I'd like to see
IF OU WINS: rematch vs. Texas; winner faces the winner of USC-Utah.
IF UF WINS: they face Utah (can Utah beat the SEC champ?) with the winner facing the winner of UT-USC

You tell me how one of those teams not winning anything in the past 30 years means ANYTHING to Oklahoma right now! Ab-so-lute-ly NOTHING. You're exactly right. I do have family in Gainesville that went to UF. I've been on that campus many times. I've been by Ben Hill Griffth Stadium many times, yet I've never been to a game. I root for Gators football and GMU in basketball. I got over being angry at them for beating us in the final four. I'm was extremely happy GMU got to the FF4.
Also have family near Miami. I've been by the U here and there, but mostly have followed the Gators since the early 1990's.
I feel like I'm getting ganged up on since I'm practically the only Gators fan here on this board. Perhaps I'll do everyone a favor and leave here and just watch the game.:2cents:

Ummmm....in case you didn't watch the first half, Oklahoma only allowed 7 points. That's GOOD to have "no defense." Now, Florida can come out the 2nd half and drop 28. I hope not, but you can't knock OU's defense the first half.

And I detest Florida and Urban Meyer for his shameless lobbying for the national championship game a couple years ago when there was still a shot that Michigan and Ohio State would simply have a rematch on neutral turf. I actually don't mind Tebow, though.
Also, I find it hilarious when the SEC loses yet another game, considering that they think they're the best conference in any sport, like EVER. Like South Carolina getting stomped by Iowa in the OUtback Bowl.

OU's offense is overrated? That's the most ridiculous thing on this board. The fewest amount of points they've scored in a game is 35. They'll score 40+ tonight. This is the greatest offense in FBS history. It's ridiculous how good they are.
They've scored 7 points in the first half. Two goal line stands, but still. It seems you look at point totals instead of which teams OU has played.
Wow, Ron Cherry's the first EVER ref for a title game.

Oklahoma is moving the ball pretty well so far. And we need McCoy on the Skins NOW!

The Heisman winner only put up 7 because Bob Stoops doesn't have Urban Meyer's imagination and wouldn't throw at the goalline. Not to mention a tipped ball by his own player that prevented points before the half.
I figured it would come down to the team that wasted the most opportunities. Oklahoma has the better offense but it appears Florida may have the better team and coach.

Tebow is more of a leader and has the intangibles which is what makes him a winner. No question Bradford will make the better pro QB. He seems to see the field very well and has nice touch on his passes. He reminds me of Tom Brady in college. It will be interesting to see if he comes out or returns for another year.

Tebow's a good kid. If the Gators win they are showing his speech non-stop for the next couple weeks.

God. Sounds like ESPN, FOX, and CBS is going to be sucking Tebow's dick for years when he goes to the NFL. I swear the announcer was crying talking about Tebow's faith.

Tebow is going to be a great player in the NFL regardless of the position he is assigned. Just too much passion and drive to succeed.

OU going for it here. 4th and game.
This the first time they went for it on 4th down this game? What a surprise.
So it's 4th and 4.
Drops back , passes incomplete. This game's done.

Would you rather them gab about TO or the Cowboys?
