*Reposted from Extremeskins Mock Draft Thread*
(Since no one is looking in that forum yet)
Well folks, I know the draft is still a little more than 3 months...this site (http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Mock-Draft-A.php) even has a countdown clock.
As TK has posted in the sticky thread, a special avatar is up for grabs this year. Now here's the big question, how do we want to run the draft this year?
Shall we have 32 different people taking responsibility for 1 team each, and having a long draft that goes on for a month or longer, much the same as we did last year? If we want to do something like that, I'll step up to the plate this year and set the thread up.
OR
Would it be preferable to have each person submit an entire 7 Round mock draft, and award the person with the highest score (scoring to be determined) the winner's avatar? We could set a cutoff day/time, and if your entry has been modified after that deadline, you would be immediately disqualified with extreme prejudice.
What say the masses?
*Mods, this is just to build up interest, please do not move yet*

Do both. Since the first option is limited to 32 people. I would do the 2nd option, but not the first.

I would be in for Option 1

Either or sounds pretty exciting. The thing that sucks about the 2nd option is that would be alot of picks to go through to see who won. But it would be interesting to see who could do the best.

I had the Steelers last year and we got through 3 rounds.

Well, I offered to run it, and if no one has any objections, I will. I'll have rules though, I'm going to give first priority to members who have been here for awhile, who I recognize by screen name, and who I'm pretty sure won't waste three days making their pick. I don't want to discriminate against newer members, but that's basically what I'm doing; I don't want to have to spend a bunch of time waiting on a wild card. Also, I'll just pick for unresponsive people, and as some people learned in the Babe Draft, putting it in my hands doesn't always work out well.
I think the second option might be better, jut having everyone submit their own mock draft, and then scoring them. I wouldn't mind doing scoring for that one either. We'd just set a cut-off time.

I really dont see the point in people submitting an entire 7 round mock draft. How many of us actually have time to go thru all those picks and make them. Also, odds are that we would be wayyyyyyyyyyy off when it came to those picks especially in later rounds. I'd suggest just doing a 3 round mock in that fashion. I still prefer a 32 team mock draft style. Just better run than last years  Sorry about that guys, me and 2k dropped the ball on that one.

I'm taking skinslove in the first round.
Hunny in the second.
keeastman in the third.
georgiaredskin2 in the fourth. (Her stock has really slipped since the whole dfitzo thing.) ;)
Give me cricket in the fifth. (Waaaaay underrated, considering her measureables.) :paranoid:
*I traded my 6th for one night with a two-bit stripper*
And I have plans to deal my 7th and two future #1s to pez for Huly.
Wait.
What?

Well, the scoring format could be done so as to make the later rounds worth it. For instance, 1 point for correct position +3 points for correct name, +(round) points bonus.
That way, if you get a team's first round pick exactly right, which should be the easiest round, it would be 1+3+1 for 5 points. But if you got the 7th rounder exactly right, it would be 1+3+7 for 11 points. Just an idea, at least then you can pick up a point here and there for getting the position correct.

Was that sarcastic? I remember it being fun for a few days and then devolving from there. I don't think it ever got completely finished.

Alright guys, let's start getting our participants lined up. I've created two threads in the Mock Draft area.
This one for general chatter:
http://www.extremeskins.com/showthread.php?t=277881
As well as another, which is a Big Board kind of thread...please do not post in it.
If you want to be part of the game, please say so in this thread, the thread pasted above, or PM me. Please do not tell me which team you want, I'll handle that part later. I'm just trying to get a list of participants.

Bumping this thread...20 spots left for this years mock. Let me know either in this thread, the one in the Mock Draft forum, or via PM if you want to participate.
PB, looks like the consensus is for the other option, sorry.

No reason we cant do both, but i would limit option 1 to say, the first 2 rounds. Maybe 3.
Anyone want to run it?

I am running option 1, though I'm shooting for the full 7 rounds. There's a main thread on it in the Mock Draft section.

I'll put you down, not a lot of people are jumping at it at this moment, including some of our longer standing members who I know enjoy participating. Just make sure you stick with it, I don't want to have to remove anyone.

Yeah, you're there, spot #5. I'll start team signups whenever we have all 32 people.
