2. What was going through the mind of the misguided juveniles who used gasoline to desecrate the front lawn of the house in Chandler, Ariz., where McNabb and his wife, Roxie, live with their children over the offseason. According to a friend of Mrs. McNabb’s, “Go Cards” and other similar messages were burned into the front lawn one night last week. This had to be especially scary to the couple’s four-year-old daughter, Alexis, who was staying in the house with Roxie and the couple’s six-week-old twins. Apparently one of the culprits was identified after leaving a box at the scene with a mailing label affixed bearing his name and address, so we’re obviously not talking about criminal masterminds here. But it’s tough to imagine that anyone over the age of eight doesn’t understand that burning something on the lawn of a house occupied by African-Americans carries deeper social overtones that are highly disturbing. I’m told Donovan took a photo of the damaged lawn and used it as a motivating force for Sunday’s game. I hope it’s the last time he or any other professional athlete ever has that opportunity.

If this was Eagles fans, it would be all over the media. Of course, no other fans can do wrong.

you ruin the whole story by whining at the end about fair treatment. just let the story stand on its own.

Yeah, both of them.

As much as I can't stand McNabb, this is wayyyyy over the limit and boundaries of being a fan and this being a sport. This guy should and probably will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

But I think shooting yourself with your own gun as long as you didn't hurt anyone should be excused as just dumb and still be allowed to play. :D

No surprise here. They are Cardinals fans, after all.

Each team has a small group of moronic/idiotic/stupid fans.

The rest of that team's fans disassociate themselves from these misfits for reasons like this.

It's sad that a couple of idiots like this can almost ruin it for everyone else.

Exactly. My guess is that these were a bunch of stupid teenagers, anyways. Not that I haven't seen more than my fair share of juvenile behavior at Skins games, though.

How can we be sure what team these criminals root for?

I could see them being fans of either team or neither. Somebody who just wants attention, but doesn't give a crap about FB.

Maybe this is a coming out party for the Cardinals thugs after 60 years of frustration.

Just plain stupid! Why would they have to rub it in? Just stupid and I hope these idiots are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Sad. Really sad. But true.

If Owens or Romo now, or Aikman/Smith/Irvin/Sanders from back in the 90's had a 2nd (or 3rd place) in the Philly area, it would pretty much be guaranteed that it would be vandalized severely.

And probably worse than this debacle.

It would've been funnier (edit, actually funny) if they would've cut out paper cardinals, laminated them, and stuck them all over his house and lawn.

I am not surprised. This state was basically forced to adopt the King holiday in order to have the superbowl. Its full of racists.

That's a terrible thing to do and I hope they get what's coming to them, but was this part neccessary or really have anything to do with it?

I didn't write that, Silver did--but he's right, and yes, necessary. And before you ask, no, I'm not an angry black man. I'm a white male that teaches history and criminal justice in high school and community college. The fact that an adult, in this day and age, would not know the social and/or historical significance of such an action is almost beyond belief. Then again, I suppose there are still plenty of ignorant people to go around.

I may have said this on other boards, but they should prosecute the idiots of this crime to the fullest extent of the law and if the eagles want to part ways with McNabb, fire up Redskins One and bring him on down here.

Well I'm not going to make any generalized statements about Cardinal fans. I just think that a loss in yet another NFC championship game is punishment enough. Two idiots, whose team won, scared an entire family because they thought it was funny. :helmet:
