To any aspiring youth/minor football coaches.... I've got a huge compilation of football books and VHS tapes (professional grade) that I wish to sell. I placed the ad on EBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260349594184

Take a look... there's some GREAT value in that package.... and it's a helluva foundation for a new aspiring coach -- or even a current coach for that matter.

I'd think about it, but I already have a good portion of those books :)

$400 value dude.... and the opening bid is $100. Can't go wrong :)

Not to mention as a Redskins fan... you can appreciate the George Allen special teams book and Gilman's Joe Bugel Counter play symposium :)

The next package I'm putting together is my "Double Wing" compilation of DVD's/VHS tapes/books. From ALL of the top guys... Markham, Wyatt, etc. You interested in that?

Just getting rid of the stuff I've gone through... extracted what I need... and no longer need.

I'm strictly a "Single Wing" cult member now.... and I'm going to keep all that stuff :) That'll be my life in football now.

And I've changed the "Buy it now" price to $200. That's a friggin steal. These books are in great condition.

From now on.... I'm just buying used books on the cheap :) I always pay a premium and then take a bomb on the reselling price :)

Not a double wing guy. I do like some of the basic plays from it, such as the power toss, and a few shovel passes, but it's kind of 'meh' to me.

Too bad you're keeping the single wing stuff, that's something I'm definitely interested in :)

That said, anyone else who is in to coaching and doesn't have these books, buy them from DH. It's an absolute steal, and I wish I hadn't bought alot of those on my own as 3-4 of them cost about $100.

Too bad you're keeping the single wing stuff, that's something I'm definitely interested in :)

If you saw the Single Wing DVD/book library I own... you'd flip out. It's over about $2000 worth of material :) I stumbled into an ad from guy who had an original Coach Aldrich book with video from the 1930's... his grandfather had it in a box in the attic and dude found it after he passed :)

You can't find that book any more.... if you found it... you're looking at over $1000 to purchase the combo. The guy made me a copy of both for FREE! :)
Video of the Spin Series footwork and backfield motion.

You see OVERHEAD video of practices... where each play is run twice... in slow motion.... against different defenses. Great stuff.

That's freakin' fantastic.

Holy crap that's awesome.

I love just reading up on any and everything football, whether it's what I run or not. I'm going to the clinic at Turning Stone Casino in Syracuse with the rest of the coaching staff at the HS I'm at. Looking forward to it. Doug Marrone is presenting as is the Miami offensive line coach, among others. Most of the guys go to drink. I'm going to be at every session I can be. :)

Those things are a blast. I'm dying to attend the Single Wing conclaves... where all the SW gurus... and long-time successful SW coaches attend... and I heard they're a blast and VERY helpful.

But I've been broke the past 2 years.... so it's a no go. Instead, I'm gonna used the proceeds from these sales to purchase the conclave DVD's :)

The reason why I started with the offense.... is because it's easiest to learn 1 offense and be an expert in it (against a finite amount of defensive schemes).... then it is to be a defensive coach and try to learn all the offensive schemes and plays. Nothing but respect for defensive coaches... those are truly the brilliant minds of the game.

Have fun dude.

Just bid on the the first set. Probally going to start getting into coaching with one of the local high schools this seasson. Or at least try. Talked my favorite coach from high school and he just got a head coaching job. Said he would let me work with the freshmen team this year and see how I did. Gotta start somewhere. Id be doing it all for free but Im excited to get back into it.

Good luck :) You get to learn what I learned... at a fraction of the cost.

There's a lot to learn.... but if you have a passion for it.... it's hardly work :) The only problem is having a "spouse"... particularly when it's unpaid... they tend to have a problem with the hours necessary to put in.

And hey, if you want to be a good coach -- and if you're not... why even waste the time, any time.... and everybody else's time for that matter -- then you have to be prepared. Do your homework.... there are no shortcuts... but it always helps to learn from the best if you can.

The most important lesson I learned.... is to break the mold. Most coaches do the same drills and run the same schemes that they're familiar with.... without knowing why they're done.... or even the relevance. Break the mold. There's some great coaches out there... and some great material. Pick and choose what you think is applicable and relevant to you and your team (ie. age group).

Hey dude... looks like you won the auction with the opening bid. Lucky guy. I'll ship the items once payment is made... the sooner the better. I want to transfer the funds from both auctions from my paypal account to my bank account once they are completed. Just waiting on you bro'. Just a heads up :)
