The Godfather and Godfather 2 should be considered one movie for purposes of this poll. It's like trying to pick which of your kids you love more.

Objectively I'd have to say The Godfather but my personal favorite is Carlito's Way.

For me it's between the first two Godfather's and Goodfellas.

No option for Johnny Dangerously? What's up with that?
:D
Me personally, i'd have to lean towards Goodfellas.

You happen to be watching Goodfellas on A&E right now? Good timing lol

The "greatest" is probably the Godfather.
The "best" as in the one I enjoyed the most? Goodfellas.
2. Scarface
3. Casino
I just finished watching Heat on Bravo. I know it's not on the list and doesn't really fall under "mobster" but what a great cops and robbers film.

I loved Goodfella's, but Carlito's way was great too.
Soprano's was one of my favorate series of all time though. I watched a behind the scenes of the Soprano's and someone said that the actual mafia in prison were so wrapped up in the show that when ever there would be an "inaccuracy" in how the mafia would do something, they would write in and make criticism's.
In one episode Tony was wearing shorts at a BBQ, and apparently Mob Boss's don't wear shorts, and they wrote in criticizing the episode. Well the next season in an episode, (may have been later that season but i doubt it, i cant remember) Phil Leatardo makes a derogatory comment about how he was wearing shorts at the BBQ. Great way to tie it all together and cover their arse. Awesome series.

Goodfellas
A Bronx Tale
Casino
Good call on A Bronx Tale, it's completely underrated.
My favorite mob movie is Goodfellas. When Conway takes a huge drag off that cig and "Sunshine of your love" starts playing, it makes me want to buy an AK-47 and an 8-ball.

I still live by the rule "when you open the door for a woman to your car if she doesnt lean over and at least unlock your door then shes not a keeper" but since i have a truck I just look to see if she unlocks the door from the auto lock.
and Deniro as a normal every day guy in such a mob movie was not only shocking but really cool I thought. he wasnt the tuff guy for once.

Well, my dad's favorite is Goodfellas but he says there's still no question the Godfather is the better of the two movies (not a knock on Goodfellas but praise for the amazing movie the Godfather is). My favorite is a tie between the two but I think Godfather is the better movie as well.

Well I respectfully disagree with you on that. I believe that Goodfellas is a better story because it has so many good actors and it is a true story.

I gotta go with Goodfellas. Feel like I'm dissing Godfather 1 and 2....but I know life stops when any of the three are on TV.
Casino is right under those as well. Scarface too.
Goodfellas is just a perfect movie.
EDIT: And I'm assuming Stickboi started this cause Goodfellas is on A&E right now. I've been lucky enough to catch the last hour of it.

That's my boyfriend's favorite movie.
The only two I've seen on the list are Goodfellas and Donnie Brasco. I really liked Donnie Brasco. We own all the rest of those movies, but I personally haven't watched them.

Great movie. My former college roommate's boyfriend was visiting one weekend from NY and he brought it...and watched it over and over. Loved it.

....De Niro, Pesci and Liotta are matched by Brando, Duvall and Pacino...there's just such an elegance to the Godfather. Both films are amazing but I think the Godfather is better watching the transformation of Michael Corleone to the new Don.
Goodfellas doesn't take as long to develop but the Godfather is better.
But Goodfellas is right behind Godfather I and II.
Pulp Fiction is a black guy named Marcellus....not the mob...

you are leaving out so many more important and big name characters from goodfellas.
paul sorvino
frank vincent
lorraine bracco
and spider himself michael imperioli.
the reason it wasnt as elegant is because there was no elegance to goodfellas. it was a true story about what happened and wasnt meant to be dressed up and made all pretty. it was dirty, gritty and it showed exactly what happened.

Ahh, whatever, arguing between the two is like arguing between Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.
They are always in the top 100 movies ever lists (of course with the Godfather always top 5).
