I couldn't find a computer help thread so to make it easier, let's put all computer questions in this thread!

Hey all you ES computer geniuses! I need some help with my laptop. I have an HP Pavillion dv6406nr laptop that I got about a year and half ago from BestBuy. I just got it back from being fixed from Geek Squad on Thursday, my internal wireless card died and they replaced my motherboard. Well since I have had it back, my screen would just go fuzzy after awhile and then turn off. So I took back to Geek Squad last night and thr guy thought it was overheating due to a dust build up so he took an air blower to it to clean it out. So I got back to my place last night to see if that fixed the problem, well now my computer won't even start up. It turns on but the screen stays blank and after about 10 seconds, my computer restarts itself and still nothing happens. What could be wrong with my computer? The only problem I had was the fuzzy screen, now I have no screen at all. Someone please help me!!!

At this point it seems like maybe they didn't reattach all the elements when they put the new MoBo in so that it's struggling to boot. Maybe (either manually or through geek squad) make sure to see if your HD is completely hooked up to the new motherboard.

Very likely they replaced your board with a defect. I work in an IT dept. and despise Geek Squad for their insane prices and shoddy work personally. If you got it a year and a half ago, I would see if you have a warranty under HP before even thinking about going back to best buy with it.

My warranty under HP was only 1 year. I bought an extra 2 years for Geek Squad, so thankfully I won't have to pay for this to get fixed. It just makes me mad that it was working before and now it doesn't work at all. I had replaced the RAM when I got it back on Thursday, would that have anything to do with it?
