Anyone else been to see this yet?

It was decent. Nothing extremely great, but solid.

Dimwit teens go to Crystal Lake and get picked off one by one.

This isn't a remake. It somewhat connects to the original story, but it is set in present day. It's all original other than the fact they are at Crystal Lake.

All the F13 movies had some hot girls in them.

My stepmom was a horror movie freak, so fortunately I spent most of my childhood, waiting for Jason, Mike Myers, Freddie, even Santa, to come hack me up as soon as I went to bed.

I found myself rooting for Jason just because the kids that go out there are obnoxious.

I've always rooted for Jason, because all the kids are always obnoxious..

I haven't seen it, but aren't the first 4 closely connected with some guy looking for Jason because he killed his sister? I remember in the 4th one he showed up for about 30 minutes of it.

I saw in the preview about someone looking for a sister in the new movie, I was wondering if they've expanded on that story line.

im going to ruin it for those who havn't seen it.

kids go camping looking for marijuana plants, jason kills all of them besides one girl because she looks like his mom. 6 weeks later the brother of that girl goes looking for her and finds her, and they think they have killed jason then the end of the movie he jumps out of the lake and grabs the girl, and then the screen goes black, the end

it was still a good movie, you guys should go see it

I understand folks getting upset about the lack of spoiler warnings, but it's a 'Friday the 13th' movie.

If you don't know how one of these movies is going to play out by now, you haven't been paying attention. :)

It was a very good movie. I especially like the way the movie introduced Jason. The most noticeable difference, he's bigger, stronger and faster.

I absolutely loved it.

Far exceeded my expectations.

A true throw back to the classic 80s slashers, but with 2000s flair. No CGI. None of the sci-fi BS that plagued the later Friday films. Just some good old horny teens out for summer fun at the familiar sourroundings of Camp Crystal Lake.

They're still drinkin, smokin, screwin and most definitely dying. LOL!

You're 35 now bro. I still love all of the originals too, but they're terrible by today's standards.

by that argument you would say Casablanca is aweful as well.

Nope the original although cheesey is better then this one.

You are missing he point of Jason. He didn't have to run...he wasn't a master archer. You want to make a modern day horror movie fine...leave the classic characters out of it unless you are going to stay true to them.

If they ever re-made Nightmare on Elm Street, they BETTER use Robert Englund, and that way I know they'll stay true to the Freddy character.

This one if it wasn't called Friday the 13th, I probably would have viewed differently. Not to mention, this one seems more fitting to be a re-make for Friday the 13th Part 2.

lets be real. there was nothing special about this moving.

it was entertaining, but adds absolutely nothing to the horror genre.

not to mention it wasn't scary and predictable. the only part that made me jump was the dog barking when the main character knocks on the door.

Yeah I'll stick with the Kevin Bacon version.

Like you said, Hollywood has lost its' imagination and regurgitates storylines on a regular basis.

I kind of find it hard to believe that Robert Englund would have said no. He has said time and time again he LOVES playing Freddy. So if that article is true, then it i a HUGE slap in the face to the franchise and to Nightmare fans. If this comes to fruition and Robert Englund is not a part then I will be boycotting.....unless Robert Englund at least endorses it. He IS and will FOREVER be Freddy Kruegar.

That's great to hear. Those are three things you have to have for a successful slasher style horror movie.

Why on earth do they keep forgetting the boobs? I love those things.

I saw it last night it was alright it didn't have that shock value as the original did but it was decent. I thought it was going to be a second-rate copy cat version of the original it took some of the elements of the first three films. They certainly amped up the blood & gore a notch for this one.

Anyone that pays to see this movie probably needs a beating. The original sucked, so why would this be any better? At least Halloween was a classic, and you had a talented director in Zombie doing the remake.

The original was classic. The original was way better than the original Halloween. Jason is the best slasher persona of the last 30 years. Don't hate.

Me and the wife went to see it for Valentine's Day (Ain't I the romantic one??)

In my humble opinion, the film sucked balls. If you are going to make a new film based on the old Friday the 13th films at least put it in the same location. As soon as a saw the location and the lake I knew the movie was going to be crap. The original films were located in the northeast (Adirondack Mountains) and this lake looked like it was somewhere in the south. Also, they used the same setup to scare people throughout the whole film. It was a waste of $20.00...

So was it Barry Bonds or Roger Clemens playing Jason..... or A-Rod maybe?
