The Cowboys put the second-round tender on four of their five restricted free agents Wednesday, which will cost $1.545 million per player.
Wide receivers Miles Austin and Sam Hurd, guard Cory Procter and defensive end Stephen Bowen were tendered offers, while the Cowboys chose not to send tight end Tony Curtis a contract, making him a free agent.
Whil Austin, Hurd, Procter and Bowen can still receive offers from teams that team must be willing to give up a second round pick as compensation, unless a side deal can be reached.
For essentially $500,000 apiece, the Cowboys made sure they had the hammer in keeping those players. The low tender is $1.01 million and because none of those players were drafted the Cowboys would not have received any compensation.
