They appear to have one of the better backfields in the AFC now.

Sometimes the NE front office just strikes me as weird.

I mean, granted, they make moves that put the Redskins to shame.

But sometimes they go and do something like this. There is absolutely no position in the NFL that's easier to find young, productive, cheap talent than RB. If I were a GM, I don't think I'd ever go free agent hunting for a running back. Looking at long-term trends, it simply makes no sense.

But the Pats are the Pats, and they won't be criticized until they have a losing season, which will probably be in 2027 or so.

I think this is a dumb move. I'm with you Hubbs. Taylor lost his job, had only 500 yards last year at a 3.something average, and you've got other people you could pick up that would actually help your team. And you're definitely right about the media, no one will second guess this move, and maybe they shouldn't, but if the Skins had signed this guy I'd be pretty upset about it.

Anyone else think he would be a good fit for New England? Kind of like in the Antoine Smith/Corey Dillon mold.

Bellicheck feels snake bitten by the rookie RB route after what a dissapointment Maroney's been, and just wants a veteran out there who will pick up a few yards and never miss a blitz pickup.

Good move. I still think Taylor in the right situation can break off a few big runs and be productive. NE is a good spot for him.

And they have to do SOMETHING to make them feel better after losing out on DHall......

Great fit. Good for both of them. This is where old, great players go to have success in their golden years.

I hope Fred can go to a pro bowl now.

He is right along side LFB as the best, unrecognized players in the league.

Didn't work out for Junior Seau. He still doesn't have that ring after 18 years in the NFL.

True and it's a shame, because he was a great LB. It's worked for a few others though.

Give Fred a "Pat" on the head for signing with them.

I think this is a very good move for the Pats. Taylor will have a good season for them.

Do you realize how awful the Jags OL was last year? MJD didn't even have a good YPC.
