at this point in the season, it is safe to say that everyone in the organization knows we have no shot at the playoffs and are playing for the #1 overall pick in the draft.
Why are our young guys still not playing? I missed last nights game, but checked the box scores like I always do....Nick Young had something like 14 points in 13 minutes....the man is averaging a point per minute....why isn't he playing 35 minutes a game? McGee is only getting like 10 minutes a game...this is rediculous...what the hell is Tapscot doing? I'd rather have eddie jordan as the HC right now.....at least he would play young and McGee.

There is a retard coaching the team. His name is Ed Tapscott.
When I looked at the box score yesterday, I laughed my ass off when I saw how many minutes McGee played. Hilarity at its finest.

I agree. I check the box scores and during games I think "why isnt McGee in? wheres young? why songaila vs pech?"
Just get em in. Let them get experience, who cares? I would love to hear the argument against it...maybe it shakes their confidence? I would think thats the coaches job though to keep them up through it...

Problem is, the retard still wants the vets in their because he wants to win. He isn't willing to sacrifice for the future because he is coaching for now and hoping for something to show at the end. I swear to you, when we beat the Timberwolves I was pissed to the tenth degree. I want to tannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

You can't just give up on a season. Because you start giving less minutes to Jamison, Butler, Songaila, James, etc., they will be pissed off and won't play hard next year when everyone is back.

I dont know man. I really think the guys will understand. It isn't like the young guys are a bunch of useless craps. They have talent that with some playing time, could really help this team out next year and in the future. This method should of been implemented a looooooong time ago because our season was done.

I just saw an interview with Ivan Carter on Comcast sports net and he answered this question very well.
He said the guys who aren't playing as much aren't earning their minutes....they are goofing off in the locker room and aren't taking practice seriously. He said Tap wants these guys to mature as players and earn their minutes.
I remember seeing Nick young and Andray Blatche goofing off in warm-ups before every game I've ever been to. This seams to be a good explanation.
I'd really like to see the young guys play, but I must admit, I agree with Ivan Carter.
Nick and Javale need to get their acts together and start earning the minutes they need to take their game to the next level.

It is strange that they dont want the young guys to get demoralized..... yet they wont put them in when the team is tanking....Isnt that demoralizing?

Well if Nick Young is still doing what he was doing last year he doesn't deserve to win. I heard about him just joking around in the locker room and playing pranks when we were in serious playoff contention. Unless he grows up he shouldn't play. Dominic Mcguire and Javarris Crittenton are mature young men who work hard and take the game seriously, which is why they get playing time. Also they are working on all aspects of the game. Nick Young is a talented scorer but I won't vouch for him. He's just looking at his own shot and chucking up shots and doesn't care about learning the team concept, learning how to be productive without the ball, and he doesn't give a crap about the team concept of defense. Mcguire doesn't have to touch the ball once the entire game and he can make a huge impact.

Oh come on, JaVale's had an absolutely great season for a rookie. He's had tons of great games, yet he still doesn't gain the minutes he deserves. He's had lots of games like the game he had here at home where he started amazingly, then gets benched, just like that. He was on a roll; had 9 points off the bench, was pulling spectacular plays - and then we didn't see much of him after that, so he wasn't used as a bigger factor.
There have been tons of other games this season where JaVale's had great starts, but then gets benched for either Songaila or Blatche and then misses out on the rest of the games. I don't mind seeing JaVale getting benched after having a good start, but I don't get why he doesn't see playing time. I think if anybody's earned the right to more minutes than he's seeing right now, then that man's JaVale McGee.

Tapp wants to instill discipline....but sometimes you have to give up on gametime discipline(like keeping a guy on the bench when they acted up in practice) and realize that the young guys need the minutes. Give them atomic wedgies or spank them with paddles to discipline them....if its good enough for frat brats, its good enough for NBA players....lol....both are spoiled rich kids in need of discipline

and you think this because you see the way he acts in the locker room and in practice? because supposedly....that is why these guys aren't getting big minutes in the game....because they are goofing off in practice and in the locker room.

Here's an article by this guy - its actually a report card for Songalia, but it speaks volumes about the young kids:
The vision that always comes to my mind when I think about Songaila is walking into that locker room before a game and seeing him sitting at his stall calmly watching a tape of that night's opponent while reading over a scouting report. Meantime, some of the team's young guys are usually bouncing off the walls goofing off. (It's Romper Room folks, pure and simple.)
I've always maintained that if Blatche and JaVale McGee really wanted to learn how to play the game, they'd study Songaila. Another thing that I respect about Songaila is that losing still hurts the guy. I can't say that about many of the players on this team. In fact, if you walk in that room after most games, you wouldn't know whether they won or lost.

I totally agree.....Ive seen where both JaVale and Nick started off hot, only to be brought to the bench. I'll freaking coach is a joke, I swear, I'll be so happy when we get a new coach in here. Anyway we can just forfit the rest of the season?

This gets into the realm of a circular argument: They don't put in the work because they're not invested in the game => They're not invested in the game because they don't have any minutes => They don't have any minutes because they don't put in the work. If you want to build maturity, in my opinion, you have to force the issue. Every loss will hurt that much more when a player feels he is contributing to it. The maturity will follow.
