What if you wanted to be at a game on the sidelines? How would you get tickets like that? Is it all just press people that get those passes?

I would assume its who you know, or you pay like an exorbitant amount of money.

Join the Touchdown Club.
I believe you can also win them in a raffle of some sort too - if you're a club member and you hang out in the club before the game.
They occasionally but rarely pop up on eBay.
The mods used to give one away a lucky ES member prior to certain games - but this was the middle of this decade. The program stopped - not sure why.

During a game its working media only. Meaning pretty much just photographers or sideline announcers. The league used to be a bit looser on this though & occasionally allow for a few writers & a spotter for a photographer. Now not so much.
They also now require the blaze orange NFL vest thingie (which I despise). I believe that started in 06 or 07.
As someone that has watched quite a few games through a camera lens, you really have a much better line of sight from the seats.
Bottom line is I believe all comes down to safety. Both for fans & players. The last thing anyone needs is Joe Fan geeking out that he's on the sideline, not paying attention to his surroundings, & get absolutely creamed by a player trying to make a play. Trust me, it aint fun when Randy Thomas steps on your foot & nearly puts a cleat through your shoe & the nail of your big toe (Arrowhead 2005 for those wondering).

Thanks TK. I should have specified - what I was referring to two posts up was pre-game field passes. My bad.

Yes they have a raffle in the tailgate club before games for prizes, (1 hour prior to kickoff) they give out like 10 prizes and 2 of them are sets of field passes. What they do is tear off your TG club wristband #,(there are two on them) and put them all in bins, then when the time comes for the prizes, they draw and call #s out.
I missed by ONE NUMBER last year for a pair of pre game on field passes when i felt lazy and wanted to goto the TG club instead :D, it was for a game later in the season though (eagles) and not the game doing on that day (browns)

TK - It's nice to know somebody's got my back at all times - even while they're pushing a grocery cart past the meat counter at Costco.

The Washington Post used to have a contest where you could win a game day "job" with the Post. I believe one of the jobs was on the field. I believe it was as a Photographer.........
BTW, a buddy of mine held the parabollic field mike for a Monday Night game vs. the 49ers about 8-10 years ago. He said the players are huge.

A sure fire way: enter into business with the team's owner on a failed movie production company. Incidentally, that will also get your Stepford Wife (a foot taller than both you and said owner) on the field as well.

Thanks for the responses.
Truth be told I had a dream last night where I was watching a game from the sideline, hence why I asked this question. Man it'd be sweet to see the game from that view, even if Randy Thomas bulldozed me :)

Best way is to make the team and then get your son a job as a ball boy or the kid who collects the kicking tees.

I was lucky enough to get them for the 06 Jacksonville game (OT Brunell to Moss).
From what I remember, they were courtesy of Aramark, so maybe the misc. vendors get some to distribute?

You can get them at charity auctions (best source, they don't run a ton of money and it goes to a good cause) and you also have the option to buy them with certain boxes. I had some to the Giants game last year, it was cool.

I will be getting some this year from a friend of mine. I had field passes to all the home games last year. The TD Club is what they are associated with. The TD Club is where the retired players go and do meet and greets etc. I met Charley Taylor and Jeff Bostic last year.
