I'm freaking out right now

My sister just called me from the hospital and told me that my little 3 year old nephew fell and hit his head while he was playing. She told me that they did a MRI and found a lesion on his brain and they're going to transport him to children's Hospital.

I don't know what any of this means, but after what happened with Natasha Richardson I'm in extreme panic mode :(

I can't metro is closed and I don't have a car. I asked my father if he thought I should take a taxi there, but he thinks I should stay home.

I think in Natasha Richardson's case, she had bleeding between her brain and skull. A lesion doesn't have to mean a lot of blood loss.

My mom thinks they're just moving him there as a precautionary thing since they specialize in kids, but this is terrifying.

I'm going to try to get some sleep soon.

Try and stay positive. Natasha Richardson was going at a high rate of speed down a mountain on skis. Kids bump their heads all the time and are light weight, so a lot less pressure gets applied. Just relax and pray. Things like this happen all the time, I'm sure she will be fine:)

It turns out it was a mild concussion and they just released the little fella. While it's not a great thing to have it's much better than other possible outcomes.

"lesion" can mean a lot of things.

I'm glad he seems to be doing fine. Any time you're talking about brain injury, even the mild traumatic closed head type, it's a little dicey.

The kid should be fine because he is getting the attention he needs. This is not the same as Natasha Richardson.
