The Locker Room is doing a list of 4 great calls of all time and it got me thinking what are the most memorable Skins play calls. My list is

1.Sonny, Sam and Frank calling Daryl Grant INT of Dexter's tip against the Cowboys in the 1983 NFC Championship

2 Sonny, Sam and Frank call on Riggo's TD run in the Super Bowl (gotta love the horn in the background)

3 Al Michaels, Dan Diedorf and Frank Gifford call on the Ricky Sanders 80 yard TD in Super Bowl XXII. When Gifford goes "hello sports fans" it was a signal of great things to come

4 The 4th is interesting. It was the 1991 game against the Oilers when Ian Howfield misses the kick and Sonny Jurgenson says "Just remember one thing, God has the Redskins in a pool"

What are yours

Mine's short.

"Touchdown Washington Redskins!"

Does anything more really need to be said.

Hmmm... a more recent one would be Al Micheals on the second Moss TD during the Monday Night Miracle against the Cowboys.

"Going deeeeeeeeep for Moss and again he makes the catch! Santana Moss for the touchdown! Wow!"

I got my hopes up during the Brad Johnson year - had season tickets, went to the game vs. Detroit at home...

Then watched the game vs. the Bucs..

How about Brian Mitchell with the stiff arm on the kicker and the announcers say, "its almost like he's throwing it in the face of Dan Snyder"

LOL

Two great calls from recent memory are Portis' first carry as a Redskin and the Troy Vincent/Sean Taylor/Nick Novak Hand of God sequence.

There was a funny instance last year when the ultimate Cowboy hater Dexter was in the booth, and Larry's commentating on some hit, with Manley in the background screaming "kill the puke SOB", or words to that effect. :D

Hail.

No it was wide left. I remember well as I was going to owe $20 to someone who lived in my dorm so I was depressed and then all my frineds come screaming, "Brendan you gotta see this!" I was like WHAT!:saber:

But low and behold, Ian Howfield shanked it and later in the Redskins highlight reel they play Sonny's call- "Just remember one thing, God has the Redskins in a pool", classic:point2sky

The Hand of God play is one of my favorite Redskins' memory and I've been a fan my whole life (36 years). I managed to get tickets for that game and the atmosphere during the last couple minutes of the game was unreal... when that play happened, everyone in the stadium was standing up and screaming and hugging. When Novak made the kick, it was like they'd just won the Super Bowl. I still get chills thinking about it.

*Total aside, but to the rest of the World that follow that round ball game thingie, the "Hand of God", from back in '86, has an infamous but completely different meaning.

But I MUCH prefer what happened against the Crygirls. ;)

Hail.

Monday night miracle had a few great calls, like the moss catch, but what about Taylor's hit to seal the victory? that was an ugly game for 3 quarters, and the cowboys looked they wanted to jsut ball control the rest of the game since we could do nothing offensively.

Then Moss sucks the gravity out of the building with those 2 catches, but then Dallas was back on offense, starting to move into FG range, and they would have got there to if not for Taylor blowing that play up the way he did.

I think you'd also have to look at some other SB XXII play calls that are more centered around Doug for historical reasons.
