I think this would be a horrible idea if it happens. I can see the Redskins jerseys now, a big FedEX in the middle instead of a number or REDSKINS on it. This isn't NASCAR. I won't buy a jersey if it has all that crap on it!

It would probably go on the shoulder pads. But I'd hate to see it. Bush league if you ask me.

This would be terrible. Just cause of teams of other sports over the pond do it doesn't mean we should.

If they do put them on, they will never come off. Advertisers will pay an arm and a leg to have their logo on an NFL jersey. The NFL, seeing as how it loves to make money, will look at what they bring in on the trial, see that they have MANY more competitive offers on the table and start a bidding war like they do with the TV networks.
Admen will love it, think about them going to their clients "do you want to be the first logo on a north american pro sports team jersey, and not just any sports league but the gran daddy of them all the NFL." Heinz would pay more to have an exclusive deal with Pittsburgh, Microsoft or Nike for Seattle, and Bubba's bail bonds and "free-lance model rentals" for former Cowboys would fit in Dallas.

I guess if it was like a bigger Reebok logo or Under Armor I could tolerate it. But I dont want to see a Budweiser patch or McDonalds logo out there.

This would be horrible!!! Uniforms in sports are just as symbolic as the sport itself and represent the team. Teams history and tradition would be stripped by defacing the uni's with this crap. They make enough money.
I would only be in favor if it brought ticket prices down DRASTICALLY!

Who cares...it's just on the practice jerseys...where after practice interviews for the nightly news you could see your advertisement on a shoulder pad...if it helps keep the price of tickets down I'm all for it.

This isn't England.
Before you know it, we'll have a big road game against the Seattle Starbucks.

yeah but if it works on the practice jerseys, what is to stop them from eventually putting them on game day jerseys?

Not a big fan of this at all. Like others said it was only a matter of time. I hope it is delayed as long as possible. I would never buy another jersey again it would look like crap.

A horrible ass idea. I'm already sick of the sheer amount of advertising that gets blown into our faces on tv, the web, in print, on the radio, etc. I mean, you cant even turn around without something being advertised. Doesnt the NFL make enough revenue with advertising, with the 25 5 minute commercial breaks during every single game? Jesus. I'm sick of this ****.

I hate it! Seeing something like an Oreo's cookie patch on a jersey or a tostitoes chip patch would drain the life out of me.

I hope this doesn't happen. I love how the uniforms are un-sullied by advertising. When you look at European soccer teams and now MLS teams throwing logos on themselves... takes a little something away from the game. DC United has a big VW logo on the front of their jerseys now

Doesn't surprise me that the first person in the NFL they quote in the article is a Jones. Jerrah's son is heading this thing up. The Cowboys were the first team sponsored by a major shoe company (Nike). Remember the huge Nike swoosh on the outside of Texas Stadium. The Cowboys were the first team sponsored by a major Soda company (Pepsi). And now they are pushing to have corporate sponsors on jerseys. What a joke!!!

I watch a lot of soccer...... and to be honest you don't really notice it. My issue with it is they advertise that way in soccer because there really is no chance to advertise during the game..... so advertising has to be done to put the players on the pitch. Football has plenty of stoppages for advertising....... so this seems completely unnecessary.

Why do we have all of this advertising anyway? I'm not going to use FedEX over UPS just because they have their name slapped on my teams stadium.

I was watching the College Basketball Skills Competition last night and they had a sponsor for everything. It was the Denny's Men's 3 point shootout, the State Farm Women's 3 Point Shootout, the Lifelock Battle of Champions, and the Vegas.com Dunk Contest. I don't see a need for a sponsor for every little thing. It's dumb!

Some people are swayed by it subconciously.
