Jason Campbell and every other QB in the NFL better watch out, Jeff George is on the prowl.

The arm is always the last thing to go -- just ask Favre. I'm not sayin....I'm just sayin... :D

In fairness, George also believes that Cutler is wrong to boycott the team’s offseason training program, saying, “I would tell him to just go in, bust your butt and work as hard as you can over the offseason. Go in and be a leader like you think you can be. Don’t give ‘em any excuse to say you’re a crybaby.”
lol. PWNED. Even a broken clock is right twice a day

“I’ve been trying to figure out how to get back in, and it just amazes me that I’m not on somebody’s roster,” George said. “I’ve been throwing two or three times a week, and every time I go out there to throw, I can’t believe I’m not a backup somewhere. I know it’s a young man’s game, but you can’t tell me I’m not better than some of the quarterbacks that are out there. I look at teams like Minnesota or Chicago, and I want to scream at the people in charge, ‘What are you thinking?’ ”
Delusion.

For the last couple of years, I myself have wondered why George isnt on a roster SOMEWHERE, even as a 3rd string QB.

he seems to have really matured and mellowed out in his older age, and I think his time away from the game has made him realize everything that he had to miss because of his attitude.

I agree with the article when it said that George wasn't the locker-room cancer that people made him out to be. We have locker room problems here right now, that is way worse than anything George could cause.

He's in shape, He still has a rifle for a right arm, and he has a willingness to help out at any QB position. He isn't asking to start, he's just asking for a chance to be 2nd or 3rd string.

And he is probably very truthful when it can be said that you can't tell him that he's not better than some of the QB's out there. I really dont know why he's not getting even a tryout somewhere. He was working out last year, throwing to the receivers at the NFL combine, and he still had a hell of an arm. It really is the last thing to go...

Can't somebody give him a chance???

Can't somebody give him a chance???I suspect that Brad Johnson's(it is ironic, to say the least) performance and Favre's late-year choke last year last year has pretty much screwed over any other prospective QB over 40 in the next 5-10 years.

Jeff George hasn't changed a bit. He still thinks he is the man and doesn't have to listen to anyone. It is obvious when he said, "I know it’s a young man’s game, but you can’t tell me I’m not better than some of the quarterbacks that are out there. I look at teams like Minnesota or Chicago, and I want to scream at the people in charge, ‘What are you thinking?’ ” I tell you Jeff. We don't want you! They rather go with guys that will listen and go with the plays that are called without question not someone like you who calls plays he thinks will work. So he will never get a call from anyone this year or ever again. I will be very surprised and will admit I was wrong.

George has to be doing this to grab the media attention, so that ABC will try to get him on dancing with the stars next year.

The quotes in this article are somewhat disturbing. Either he really does feel this way, or he's doing it to catch some headlines. Either way the quotes are quite odd

I think he may have a shot. Let's pull the trigger. He'll be better than Campbell at least. Just kidding.

He will never take another snap in the NFL....never.

Didn't Timmy Smith want to come back a couple of years ago?

The media just needs to ignore him and he will go away. Keep interviewing him and he'll say he can play past 50.

I completely agree. No where in this article does George ever take any blame for his failure in the NFL. Major indicator here that's Redskins related:

“Everybody tries to use you as a scapegoat in an effort to save their jobs,” George said. “That’s the way it is. When Norv was in Washington, you weren’t even allowed to call audibles – that’s the way the offense was set up. So at the end of the year after Terry came in we were in Dallas and we were losing late in the fourth quarter and had a third-and-20. I said to [wideout] Irving Fryar in the huddle, ‘If you get one-on-one coverage I’ll put it up and we’ll try to get a first down.’ Sure enough, I saw man-to-man on the outside, and I threw it to Irving and it was incomplete. That was it. But people ran with it to try to save their butts.”

The man is an absolute clown who really doesn't seem to understand what he did wrong in his career to land himself to the point he is today. Pretty sad really when you think about it. Also, he still seems to think that just because he has a good arm he deserves to be in the NFL.

Here's a funny question though. What's the first thing you think of when you read this quote?

“If I was in Minnesota,” George said, “I guarantee I’d be wearing a ring right now. I just can’t get over why somebody like [coach] Brad Childress wouldn’t take a look at me and have me as the third guy on their roster. Put me in and I’ll pick up right where I left off in ’99, but this time with Adrian Peterson (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players;_ylt=AjNIPCC6i7bRNv0JMeoMLmyr0op4?type=las tname&first=1&query=Adrian+Peterson&q=Adrian+Peterson), so I wouldn’t have to throw it nearly as much.”

Delusion.

there are probably a half dozen backups in the NFL,maybe more who george is better than.

that said

those backups have a fraction of the attitude george carries.

Dude still has a lot of confidence and a well-rested arm but it's hard for teams to overlook that old "leadership is overrated" quip. Still, I could picture him doing well as a backup for the Pats.
