Whether or not the Cutler trade rumors were legitimate, the state of this franchise / fanbase has been scrambled up for no good reason. At the end of last season, it was my feeling that the offensive personnel probably wouldn't change too much. We'll get our 2nd year players more involved and shore up the O-line. Bam. Plain and simple.
Big acquisitions on defense are were already promising to make us a more dynamic team. More pressure = more turnovers, better field position more often, and if the team makes strides in the red zone, then we will be as close to a complete team as we have been in years.
Now, after the Cutler fantasy turned out to be just that, some "fans" want to deal Jason Campbell anyway. I was opposed to making the deal, as many of you were, while recognizing the potentially great QB Cutler is. I still believe we have a potentially great starting QB, not to mention that he has the character to persevere through embarassing trade talks. I believe in Jason Campbell, and he really deserves a fair shake this season.
Anyone who thinks Colt Brennan, Marc Sanchez, or any other option at this point would be better than JC17, you are all bats*** crazy. Next year is Campbell's make or break year. He's got every reason, and is making all the necessary preparations to succeed in Zorn's offense, and should he fail, we can always give Colt or Collins a shot.
Please stop the craziness. I need sleep.
