Instead of trying to sooth Campbell, Vinnie & Dan should tell Jason_______________

"Yes Jason, we tried to trade for Cutler. We felt Jay could've been an upgrade. Well, it didn't work out. So, we are going to let you prove yourself this season. first you have to win the starting job in training camp, as we are telling Jim Zorn to have an open competition at QB. Joe Gibbs was high on you but Gibbs isn't here anymore. You want to be starting this year and get that long term contract; then earn the job. Prove us wrong Jason."

Yes, I want them to increase the pressure on Jason. If Jason truely is a franchise QB; then he will prove Dan Snyder wrong and Dan will have to show him the money.

Just because this is his last year of contract, he can't go anywhere.

No where I have read that Jason wants, needs or expects to be soothed. You must be confusing him with the other JC.

I kinda' think Jason will of gotten the message that the management has little to no faith in him as things stand by the way they very publicly tried to replace him, and all but did were it not for Chicago's eleventh hour steal.

Good luck getting that open competition in camp though if Zorn has anything to do with it.

Hail.

They should tell Jason this is his chance to prove everyone wrong, including them. This season could be his last as a starter in the NFL, so I'm sure he will have alot to prove. I just hope he can prove us all wrong and show us what he can really do.

"...yes we were interested in Cutler for the right price; we will do everything we can to make this team better and so far, Cutler has shown more than you have. We still think you can be our franchise Quarterback, but we need to see progress this year if it's going to work out...."

Simple message: We still like you, but you aren't untouchable; You need to continue to improve or we are going to look elsewhere, not because we don't like you, but because this is about winning the most games year in and year out....

Jason has to prove he can handle it. I really don't want to hear how he has to "prove the fans and haters wrong" or whatever quote he seems to come out with in these situations (he had a few last year)

2nd year in a QB friendly system. More experience at WR. Hopefully another OL upgrade via the draft. Make it happen JC, GET PAID

To me, this is very simple... Danny and Vinny have nothing to apologize for at this point. Here is what they should say:

Jason, we like you... but we will do anything we possibly can to create a winner here. The solution is for you to make yourself the best player on the field every Sunday.

Make us regret considering Jay Cutler... Because you know Jay Cutler will try to make us regret not offering more than the Bears.

Honesty is the key.

We all like JC. I don't thing anyone seriously dislikes the guy. The fact is we had the opportunity to upgrade and we missed out. Now it's JC's chance to prove that he can be a franchise QB and he needs to show the FO and a lot of us fans that we were wrong in wanting Cutler. If he does that he will be handsomely rewarded.

I would not waste any more time and effort on this failed experiment. "Jason will will try to trade you .... if we cannot ... you are welcome to back-up the new Skins QB. We have invited Garcia in for a workout and we plan to try to trade up for Mark Sanchez in the April Draft. We love you son."

Snyder and Company don't have the marbles for a move like this. They will probably avoid talking to him like a girl at a 7th grade dance. Then try to draft Sanchez and forget about o-line help until Week 1....

I love the whole "win the job, prove us wrong" thing.

Snyderrato: Coach, we instruct you to have an open qb competition.

Zorn: That's charming, but really Jason is so much better than the other two, it would be pointless. I really need Jason to get all the reps with Santana and Antwaan as we bring Devin and Malcolm up.

Snyderrato: But we feel like Jason can't lead us to a Super Bowl, so why not open things up?

Zorn: Listen, Todd is a nice veteran to have around and we can trust him to go play in a pinch, but come on he's almost my age, his arm is weak, and he doesn't know this system.

Snyderrato: Aren't you missing-

Zorn: No, don't even get me started on Brennan. The only people who think he's a starting NFL Quarterback right now are some friendly Hawaii fans and some very insistent people on a message board.

Snyderrato: But we just feel like-

Zorn: You FEEL? How's that been going so far? Renting Jason Taylor for a year in exchange for a 2nd round pick? Drafting a punter? Lying to everyone about your interest in Jeff George 2.0? What, the first Jeff George wasn't enough for you two? And that's just the crap that's gone on since I got here, I don't even want to know how the hell Ryan Clark ended up in Pittsburgh.

Snyderrato: Well, we'll meet with Jason later and-

Zorn: Stop right there. Don't bother, because Jason won't believe a word that comes out of your mouth. But I have a good relationship with him and we'll work hard and play hard for me. As long as I'm coaching these three guys on our roster, Jason is our starting qb, comprende?

This is exactly what needs to be said to Campbell. I hope Campbell steps up more this year like he did from 07 to 08 and then Snyder gets him that long term deal.

Zorn probably had no clue what is going on. He thinks that Danny and Vinny will always collaborate with him.
Unlike Cutler, his head coach is still backing him. Just sayin'.

Maybe that's why they drafted Fred Davis lol..."Ok, Cooley, last year means nothing. You've got to go out and EARN that starting job, dammit!"

My concern with allowing Jason to start this year is that he will show just enough to warrant an extension and then revert back to his play of the last two years. Then we are stuck with him. I just don't see us ever getting any consistant play out of him. It's time to move in another direction and get some stability at that position. As much as I would like for it to, it's just not going to work with Jason. :(

I'm pretty sure Zorn new Snyder and Vinny were at least looking into Cutler. I remember from that interview of Zorn at the coaches meeting or wherever it was, someone asked him directly if he told Campbell that he WAS their starting QB this year, no questions asked...and Zorn hedged by saying something along the lines of "I didn't tell him that specifically, we really just talked about all the plans I have for him this year and what we need to reach our goals this season and that we need to focus on that, etc, etc"...I remember reading that and thinking "Rut-roh" lol.
