It's alright. Give 'em a 14 spot. Doesn't matter.

There were actually 2 block in the backs on that play. Just saw the other one right before he scored the TD.

Pass protection is totally inconsistent. Shotgun gives JC time but the offensive line just falls apart at times.
D Thomas shows some verrrrrrrrrry nice flashes...
Cooley and Portis are so unbelievably important to this offense....its mind boggling to think how people call for Clintons head around here.

April-5th-2009, 04:22 PM
This game shows you why JC doesnt have alot of TDs. This offense is not built to be an effective redzone team unless it runs it in. It shows big time

Campbell made some great plays. He had a key 1st down run in the 4th quarter, he had some great improvisation throws like the one to Randle El after avoiding a sack. Hopefully some of you haters watch these replays and remember we have a pretty damn good young quarterback.
Note the interview with Jim Johnson, one of the most respected defensive coaches in the league when he says Jason Campbell is clearly going to be one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL. But what does he know, right?

But what does he know, right? His years of experience scheming against the many (often medicore or bad) QBs the Redskins have over the years is simply irrelevant over the subjective judgments of fans seeing only what they see on TV who don't even bother with a stopwatch to clock the actual time for the play to take.:silly::evilg:

I can't wait. We are going to finally be dominant IMO. All we've needed for years was that big run stopping top notch DT, and we finally got one.

Yeah, that run on that third down play on the last drive was really something. Campbell really made some plays in that game, as well as the game in Dallas. Vinny and Snyder should have watched that game today and appreciate what they have.

I guess everyone sees that our offensive woes were not JC's fault but the O-line's when they are watching the actual game. I have been preaching this the whole time.
Everyone can also see how dominant we will be next year.

Yup, credit where it's due. He had two very good back to back games against Dallas and Philly. Three if you include the Saints game.
It was just the vast majority of the other 13 games that were the problem. ;)
But hey, if were not looking for a consistant QB over a WHOLE season, I'm with ya'. Bring on more single game high points which are in the minority, not the majority.
Hail.

NO QB plays a consistent 16 games straight, not Peyton Manning, not Tom Brady, not Drew Brees...The only ones that did have had either all-time type seasons or MVP seasons...
Good thing about that though...Football IS a team sport...Successful teams have a funny habit of picking up the unit/player that is struggling...

Great game.
Portis is THE MAN. The OL didn't look too shabby either.
Is Comcast dropping the NFL Network?
edit: "As our loyal fans know, Comcast moved NFL Network from a digital Basic Tier to a Sports Tier and charged an additional monthly premium for NFL Network. We are committed to NFL fans, and don’t want them to pay more for the best NFL coverage all year round. We want our fans to continue to enjoy all the benefits of NFL Network."
:(
so.. im not allowed to pay for it? ha. geez.
"We want our fans to continue to enjoy all the benefits of NFL Network"
That certainly doesn't seem to be true.

i watched this game too, portis was on fire, especially on those stretch plays. our defense was playing lights out. and sean suisham was hitting 50 yard FGs. campbell didnt do anything all that impressive, the best throw of the game was by randle el, hitting cooley in stride for that trick TD play.
again, if our run game is playing out of its mind, our defense is shutting down everything, and our FG kicker isnt missing anything outside of 52 yards, this team can outscore our opponents by a possession.
do you really wanna rely on that for 16 games? i dont.

well.. 3rd and 9 in the 4th. We needed a big play to keep control of the game.
Campbell ran the ball for a long gain. The was definitely his best play of the game.
And when he hit Portis outside. That was actually a great pass.
He shouldn't have thrown the ball away as we were getting close to the 2 minute warning. Anyone else see that look on Zorn's face? ha. He was disgusted.
Campbell isn't bad. He just isn't great. However, having said that, I'm fully confident in the 2009 Washington Redskins WITH Jason Campbell at the helm.

However, what I don't understand is why you and others take every opportunity (meaning nearly every thread) to voice your objection as to Jason Campbell being our starting QB in 09? I mean, it's almost like you guys believe that the more you proclaim your objection, some how we might be able to change the starting line up.
Please remember that this is just a question.:)

As of May 1st, Comcast won't have the NFL Network anymore. Sucks big time because I can't get satellite so the Skins better not play on NFLN this year!

Sure it does. BLC laid out a nice summary of the game. I watched the replay and came to the same conclusion. He included all aspects of the Redskins @ Eagles game not some drive by comment that only focused on JC. CP and the D definitely were the difference in that game.
Did you see Zorn's face when JC threw the ball out of bounds on 3rd and 1 that would have sealed the game? Or D.Thomas on the PI penalty? Classic. That man has some anger management issues. :evilg:

the only real topic on this board at the moment is JC. nobody is talking about anything else. so when JC is brought up, ill voice my opinion. this was about the eagles game, i talked about portis and the stretch plays, suishams great game, our defense stopping westbrook, and mentioned JC not playing that great, because i read earlier in the thread some usual "man campbell was good, blah blah". of course im going to respond to that.
frankly im getting tired of talking about it, but i cant start threads. somebody start a topic about something else, like our linebacking corp, discussing whether thomas will pan out, is kelly going to do anything, how our run game is going to be affected re-adding dockery, did samuels injury really hurt his career or will he be back to form, will horton repeat his 08 campaign.
look at the front page, id say a good 80% is JC related, especially in the first 15 topics.

I can respect that answer man. Just seems like you think that JC is the scum of the earth or something at times. Lets root for the guy this year, and pray to god he plays his a** off. Its really all we can do. I agree.....there really isnt much else being talked about on this board. Its up to JC to change that I guess. But really at this point....there is NOTHING more to discuss.

pretty much the only reason i fly off the handle is because im baffled people dont see what i see. its like i look at the color red. its red. somebody tells me its not red, and thats its gray. im confused, so i ask why its gray, and i get a whole line of nonsense about why its really gray. lol
ill never root against him, or anybody that plays for this team. i dont hate JC at all, even though i want him out of the QB spot. i want whatever i think will make the TEAM win, and i dont think JC is it. whatever is best for our team is what i want, and i just feel it isnt him.
but if our staff decides hes the best option, you better believe ill be cheering for him. but the eyes will be a rollin the second he does something bad lol!
and agreed, were all beating a dead horse here, but until april 25th, ill have my bat in hand lol.

I guess what made your response about JC even stand out at all was the fact that you devoted four sentences on the subject of JC (Two of them more lengthy than others:)). Where as you gave every other subject brief, one sentence responses. That's what made me ask the question in the first place. No biggie.
I guess that you are just as passionate in your feelings about Campbell being our starting QB as I am about us re-signing Dockery and him being our starting LG.
IMO Dockery was a big oafish like disappoint. And bringing him back makes no sense to me at all. I would start a thread on that, but I'm afraid that I to would receive the dreaded NNT designation.:paranoid:
