Just wondering what some experts on here think, I know Haynesworth is a force to be reckoned with, but he without a doubt the best DT in the game? Let's do some comparisons and some of you please respond with who is better.
Haynesworth vs Tommie Harris
Haynesworth vs Kevin Williams
Haynesworth vs Jamaal Williams
Haynesworth vs Ty Warren
Haynesworth vs Fred Robbins
I may be biased, but Id have to say Haynesworth is still the best among all of these. The Titans would not have won a lot of games without Phat A.
Let's debate yall! :40oz:

I talked to a former NFL offensive coordinator not too long ago and I asked him which defensive linemen he hated facing most.
His answers were:
Dwight Freeney and Albert Haynesworth.
He even said it wasn't even close. Best two DL in the league.

One thing I worry about Haynesworth is any retaliation from dallas players when the skins play them. I'm getting images of that dallas oline going after Haynesworth around the knee area.
I like vince wilfork from the pats but not as much as I've liked seeing Haynesworth play

I dunno dude, i think it is very, very, very close between haynesworth and kevin williams. I was actually looking at kevin williams stats earlier today with my buddy who is a vikings fan and i didnt believe that stats my buddy was pulling out, but after some reasearch i came to the conclusion that he's a MONSTER! In his 6 year career he has totaled 42.5 sacks as a DT, that is beastly

Both Williams are beasts, although Jamaal in San Diego is more of a NT. Harris was a monster a couple years back but I don't know, that Bears D has gone down a bit lately. Haynesworth is right up there with all of them for sure.

Supposedly he and Gurode made up afterwards. Maybe it'll be Fatzell doing something to draw an unnecessary roughness penalty. One can dream...

Big Al, c. Hampton, and the Williams boys.

Depends what your after in a DT.
The perfect combination would be a Haynesworth/ Shaun Rogers strong as heck, mean SOB; with a quicker, more athletic Tommie Harris/ Darnell Dockett type taking advantage.
Minnesota have by far and away the best DT combo in the "Williams Wall", Kevin and Pat. Throw in Jarred Allen from the end slot, and THAT'S a D-Line.
As bruising, power DT's go, I wouldn't say Big Al's the top of the tree, but he's right up there with the Pat Williams, Shaun Rogers and Casey Hampton's of this World.
As reticent as I initially was at putting so much stock into one player, boy am I glad he's playing for us rather than against us.
Hail.

Haynesworth last year was better than all of them, but let's keep in mind that entire list of players that play a different position than Haynesworth... Tommie Harris, Kevin Williams, Fred Robbins are three-techniques while Jamaal Williams and Ty Warren play in a 3-4.

In terms of complete skill set, I think Osi U. (not going to try to spell it) is one of the best in the league. He plays both the run and the pass really well, especially from the RE spot. People think he is just a finesse rusher, but he is one of the best all-around I think.
Kevin Williams is also a very good player, but I'm sure he benefits tremendously from having Pat Williams beside him. Maybe we will see a similar effect with Cornelius Griffin this season. He is going to be an animal next to Haynesworth.

Osi is ferocious for sure. I remember how Griff made our other d-line positions a little better when he came to DC. I hope for 3x that when Albert lines up in the Maroon, Black, and Yellow.

Who cares.
I heard more analysts call Haynesworth better than Warren Sapp last year than I can count on both hands. Now, I don't put too much stock in the talking heads, but talking about Warren Sapp in the same breath is a very good signal.

He's a former Vol, nuff said :)
seriously, I think his boneheaded move stomping on Geoude's head... and the negative feedback he received was a wakeup call, and made him grow up.
He's said he wants to show he is worthy on his contract.... and I want to believe him :fingersx:

Kris Jenkins is not the same player he was when Carolina went to the Super Bowl. He is good, but not like he used to be.
Also, forgive my ignorance but could someone educate me a bit about Haynesworth? Is he a 3 or a 1 technique? I have assumed all along that he is a 1 technique, since I thought we brought him here to command and beat double teams. Griffin seems like the prototypical 3 technique, I don't know that we would have another 1 on our roster outside Montgomery.
I'm going to assume he will be our 1 technique, although I bet he could play over any gap on the line. Anyway, like someone else said, its apples to oranges comparing the stats of these different tackles. J. Williams, Wilfork, Rogers, Ngata, Jenkins, Ratliff, Hampton are all good but obviously quite different playing the 0 technique. And then K. Williams, Cofield, Harris, and Dockett (3 and 5?) are all different playing the 3. So I think you have to compare him to guys like P. Williams, and I think he comes out favorably. Plus, I don't know where guys like Marcus Stroud and John Henderson play, but I haven't hear much out of them for a little while so I am assuming they haven't been all that great recently.
