Alex (Princeton, NJ): It may be too early to tell, but do you see the Beast being as strong this coming season as it was last season, relative to other divisions?

SportsNation Matt Mosley: It's hard to say because things change so much. We thought the Beast was stacked last season and then everyone sort of hit a lull at some point. The Eagles obviously made a nice run -- and I think the Giants have reloaded on defense. So with Haynesworth in Washington and the Cowboys perhaps focusing more on the ground game, sure, I think the Beast could be better. And as of today, I certainly have it as the best division in the NFC.

Justin (Denton,Tx): how much would Dan Snyder love an uncapped 2010?

Kevin (Austin TX): Matt, am I the only one who thinks Jason Campbell is a very good QB? I dont even like the Skins but he seems to have it all, but just cant get his organization to keep things consistant. With this being the first time in his career running the same offense twice in a row, do you think he will shut his critics up for a while?

SportsNation Matt Mosley: Kevin, there's no bigger Campbell apologist than me, but the guy has to have a productive season. Does he have to throw for 4,500 yards? No, but he needs to continue to limit his mistakes and not take as many sacks. Campbell fell victim to the offensive line wearing down in the second half of the season. Ther running game dried up and that made Campbell less effective. And it's not like he's throwing to big targets. Other than Cooley, he really doesn't have someone he can count on for a string of good performances at receiver. Santana Moss is a gamebreaker, but the club desperately needs either Thomas or Kelly to show up this season. But I'm certainly rooting for Campbell to find it this season.

Tim (california): If you had to pick the best NFC division, which would it be? NFC South, NFC Least? Not the West for sure.

SportsNation Matt Mosley: I still think the Beast is the best division top to bottom. And despite the fact the Cards made it to the Super Bowl, I still think the NFC West is the worst division -- until someone proves otherwise. Seahawks, Niners and Rams were all bad last season. Why wouldn't that be the worst division?

Justin (Denton,Tx): chances mike shanahan ends up in the beast in 2010?

SportsNation Matt Mosley: Cows and Redskins both possibilities

M (DC): If Crabtree falls to No. 13, should Redskins pull the trigger? Also, how does the Cutler trade affect their draft plans and who would be available at 13?

SportsNation Matt Mosley: If he's the best player on your board, sure.

Matt (DC): What kind of deal do you think the Redskins could get if they wanted to trade down and Mark Sanchez was still available?

SportsNation Matt Mosley: Redskins just don't have enough ammunition in this draft to do much. They could give up a No. 1 in '2010 I suppose -- if they're in love with Sanchez. But I think something like that would be contingent on getting a second-rounder for Jason Campbell. I don't think the 'Skins found any takers.

Would hate for Shanahan to land in Dallas.

BPA or not, please don't draft Crabtree. I'll start a riot at FedEx.....

he missed the question. Dude was asking what we could get back from somebody else who wanted Sanchez, not on us wanting him.

He didn't answer the last question, apparently thought the guy was talking about the Skins moving *up* to get Sanchez, when actually the question involved what the Skins might be able to demand for #13 to move *down* if somebody else wanted to move up to get an available Sanchez at that spot.

Campbell fell victim to the offensive line wearing down in the second half of the season.
This has been said many times, but it bears repeating based on a lot of what I read on this board. Campbell had his accuracy problems, but to me, I look at the 6-2 start and the eventual fall more on the part of our aging OL wearing down. We need a serious youth infusion on the OL. This next year could very well be a growing pains year (and it probably should) as we get some new young faces on OL and try to get them slowly integrated. Our OL gets worn out, and by the end of the season they can't sustain. Even when they were able to rattle off wins to close out seasons, it hasn't carried over to the postseason.

I can see Vinny drafting crabtree over a OL in a heartbeat

Everyone on this board was pissed when we passed on Williams so that's not really a good comparison

I feel the same way but knowing vinny he tends to go with the "sexy" pick and not what best fits the teams needs:chair:

If Crabtree is there you take him. When you draft for need you end up stretching.

We'll end up drafting Beanie Wells. Wouldn't surprise me, another perplexing first round selection.

I don't think we screw up this year in the draft. Other than being able to land Cutler, I think we will stay status quo and get our OL, DE and OLB.

Agreed. We will pick up an OL at 13 or trade down.

Hopefully it's A. Smith.

I'm with you. He's not even the best reciever in this draft.

I agree (for the first round anyway). After the first you take the BPA at positions of need. It's too much of a crapshoot. If Crabtree is there Snyderrato have to at least consider it. But, if Crabtree is there, I think they're in a much better position to trade back (and should).

Why are so many people talking about the Skins couldn't get a 2nd round pick for Campbell. Outside of this board, I have NEVER heard anyone discuss a trade for Campbell for a 2nd round pick. The Cutler deal was the only time getting rid of Campbell was discussed. The Skins never went after Cassell or Garcia.

Somehow this 2nd round thing has taken on a life of its own. For this to be true then some team must have only offered a 3rd round pick INSTEAD of a 2nd round Pick. Which team did this. Can anybody site even 1 single team that offered a 3rd round pick for Campbell and it was turned down.

I think even if Sanchez is gone...and he will be--to Denver at 12 at the very least, there is a possibility that a bunch of teams will want to trade to 13 to get Freeman-the last QB worth taking in the first. That may be where we get our Trade down possibility.

I think that we look hard at OT and at Aaron Maybin. I wasn't that high on Maybin, but the dude is 20 yrs old and that will allow him to add wt and speed.

I noticed that Mosley didn't answer the question about Snyder wanting an uncapped year next year. I wonder what his thoughts were on that.
