With alot of speculation going around about us picking Sanchez in the draft, my honest feeling about him is that he came out this year because he knew he would have no chance next year to be a top pick at QB. If he would have waited until next year he would probably had to contend with at least Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy coming out. And looking forward, I would rather give JC his last shot this year and if it doesn't work out, pick up one of these guys in the 2010 draft, even if it means moving up to do so. I personally think I would give up the house for Sam Bradford and maybe even McCoy. Either way, I would love one of these guys compared to Sanchez or even a guy like Cutler, which we were about to give up two first rounders for. What do you think, if QB is going to be addressed, would you rather do it in this years draft or next?

Two Colts in contact with each other might cause a rip in the space time continuum. That and I don't think he will make a good NFL QB.

Maybe that's a sign it's time for you guys to give 'ol ES a break for a little while. Thanks.

I'm actually not as high on McCoy, but i figure with his accuracy he might be a good fit for the WCO.

Uh, it might be a sign that YOU will take a break from ol' ES for a while, at least from starting threads. You could have put this opinion anywhere that already exists.
To answer the thread, I think you give JC this year, considering the low success-rate of underclassmen QB's that is being discussed in another thread, and throw Colt into the fire if he's not getting it done by week 8, and see what we have there. Although I think in his second year of this offense, we can look forward to another solid start to the season. The trick will be if it holds up, or caves again.

With a warm reception like this, I might. But for now....I really didn't see that much discussing the drafting of a QB next year compared to this year, which was the main point of the thread. Maybe I should've gone deeper into the anals of ES. As far Brennan goes, I would not be mad if he did turn out to be Tom Brady reborn, but if he was even remotely as good as some of the delusionals on here claim him to be, we wouldn't be looking at Leftwich.

ill back any thread titled Dirty Sanchez
but to your point about leftwich, i disagree. i think that if we were looking at a younger guy to come be a backup, then yes that would indicate that colt might never be a guy who couldp lay that role.
however, signign leftwich to...say...a 1-2 year deal so that Colt can be ready to step in at moment's notice would not be a horrible thing.
bottom line - we saw what Leftwich can do first hand last year. i would love to sign him and know that if JC went down he could come in and play a decent game.
