Didnt see this posted anywhere.... Here is the strength of schedule for the upcoming season. Redskins have the #16 spot. Kinda strange, but its the weakest schedule in the division. Think that helps us? I personally dont think it really matters, since teams change so much in the offseason(FA's, draft, etc...)

It's about time. If memory serves we have had the toughest strength of schedule in the east for the past four seasons.
(Steelers ranked 29. WTF?)

for all we know the AFC West could become really good again like what happened in 2005. Also, the NFC South is pretty strong overall. Our division is still one of the best, so either way we're getting screwed.

Middle of the pack for an 8-8 team a year ago seems fair to me.Hopefully we can capitalize on this divisionally.Hail.......

we have the hardest b/c we played the 4th teams in the nfc north and nfc west (like we do this year) and b/c giants/cowboys/eagles were considered harder than any nfc east combo that include the redskins.
also, the steelers had the #1 toughest schedule last season. so the should cruise this year

it won't really matter ... every year the cliche "any given Sunday" seems more true ... just ask the Rams, Bengals and 49'ers.
It is what it is, we play in the freaking BEAST, nothing is easy.

This is the truth. Back in '05, we supposedly had one of the weakest schedules in the league going into the season, but based on the way the season unfolded, it turned out to be among the toughest.
Strength of schedule means next to nothing at this point.

This doesn't really mean anything based on the teams we beat last year and the teams we lost to. Not to mention the teams that underachieve and the teams that overachieve.

we have a last place schedule, it should obviously(at least in theory) be the weakest in the division.

14 of the games in an NFL schedule are based on a mathematical rotation that was set back in 2002.
It has little to do with where we placed the previous season. Only two NFC opponents will be assigned by such criteria.
Preseason strength of schedule comparisons are almost pointless in the NFL.

The strength of schedule (which means absolutely nothing in reality) still doesn't factor in how the league is going to screw us. I mean, it has no baring on us playing three divisional road games in the first five games of the season, does it? We could have the easiest schedule in the league as far as last year's opponant records, but the league will make sure they arrange it so that it bites us in the ass.

I swear, whoever makes these schedules has a clear bias towards a team. How the **** do the steelers, the superbowl ****ing champions have the 3rd easiest schedule as of now? ****ing bull****.
excuse my language lol

We have a team that plays like the team we are playing like a 2-12 team can beat us as can a 12-2 team get beat by us

The upcoming opponents for the most part are all scheduled in advance based on the rotating system for the NFL by division.
You play your divisional opponents 2x each (6 games), 1 entire NFC division (4 games), 1 entire AFC division (4 games). The only thing based on your divisional standing comes from the extra 2 games against the remaining divisions within your conference. In that case, we play the bottom Lions in the NFC North and the Rams in the NFC West this year.
It's been like this rotation pattern since the 32-team realignment back in 2002. You can find out future opponents from sites like this: http://www.johnnyroadtrip.com/schedules/nfl_future_nfce.htm (Assuming that the way it's done continues).

League wide parody. Nothing is easy in the NFC east. Hopefully there will be a soft part of the schedule where the team can gain momentum like last year - only this time maybe they can keep things going.
But I agree with everyone else in that the SOS doesn't mean squat from year to year.

This SoS is based on last-year's records... This season's true SoS will be final at the end of the season based on this season's records...
BUt, still a good indicator nonetheless..... We have the opportunity to make some noise.

I like to look at the schedule and optimistically look at games we "should" win....Then every year we go out and play down to the competetion; hopefully we buck that trend this year....However, to be a debbie downer, this team hasn't shown me anything to make me confident going into ANY game for quite some time.... It should be a good schedule, hopefully we can capitalize on it.

The reason our SOS is so much lower than the rest of the division is because we get to play the lions. Their 0-16 record last year really throws the winning percentage of our opponents off. It does the same for everyone else who plays them too. Look at how much harder their SOS rating is compared to their 3 divisional opponents, who play them twice.

Of course, because they only made the new rule that says the AFC eastern teams can't play two teams from the California on the road.
