Here's What I'd Do

Having just taken over the GM position, I work a trade, sending the #10 pick to Seattle in exchange for the #14 and #41 picks in the draft. But I'm not through. I trade the #14 to the Lakers for their #24 and #32 picks.


In the draft, I take:

#24 Josh Howard - Wake Forest SG
#32 Kendrick Perkins - Ozen H.S. C/PF
#38 Luke Walton - SF Arizona
#41 Chris Marcus - C Western Ky.


So we don't get the cream of the crop, but we get an infusion of young talent.

Cranky...where are you getting news of the undrafted free agent signings? There were a slew of guys I'd be interested in following.

Also, have the Wizards signed anyone yet?

Oh, sorry. They arent actual signings, they are just camp invites. It's not quite like the NFL. And I dont have a UDFA camp invites list, I just happened to see an article about Marcus.

Do camp invitees get to play in the summer leagues (which should be firing up soon)?

I recall there are always a slew of guys you never heard of playing alongside first round draft picks in the summer leagues. Every now and then one of them steps up and makes a roster.
