As all of you have read im sure Kwame was going to be traded and it was basically a done deal. I think it was for like 3 role players too, but im not sure. I think we almost traded away another guy we never gave a chance. BUT THANK GOD NEW COACH EDDIE JORDAN stepped in and stopped it all by saying he wants to see what Kwame can do first. This is great i think, give the kid a damn chance before trading hima nd regreting it in years. ala Webber/Wallace etc.......

I just wanted to give a huge thanks to Eddie Jordan for having some sense.

i think that was the best move they made on draft day! i am pulling big-time for Brown to show Jordan that he can hang!!!

do you think Jordan would have traded him had he stayed with the WIZ???

Les Boulez really need Kwame to step up and become a 15 pt 9 rebound 1.5 block shot 4 assist kind of guy this season. If he can give an all around CONSISTANT performance than dare I say playoffs? I know, I know it's the Bullets/Wiz but C'mon the sun shines on a dog's ass every once in a while. :high:

I'd love to see Kwame develop and we knew he wouldn't be ready in one season.

But if he doesn't show much growth this season without MJ barking at him we're going to regret not making that trade.

The scenario I see (given that we're dealing with the Wizards) is that Kwame will stink right up to his contract year and then start showing he's finally there. We 'reward' him once again with a huge contract and he either regresses or injures himself out of the league.

Hail Eddie Jordan for that move. I heard some teams were offering their first round picks. I would only have considered that move if the offer was James or Anthony, and we know that was not gonna happen. Jordan showed some intestinal fortitude by saying, NO don't trade the future. He had the opportunity to see Kwame from the NJ bench.

I'm just glad he is bringing some running and ball movement to an athletic and young group.

This is Kwame's contract year, I believe.

i would have only been happy with the deal if we could have gotten a top-four pick... bosh would have been sweet.

Bosh has talent but I would not have made the trade for him.

its a wonder how a "common sense" descision is being hailed.

such is the history of BBall here.

I bet MJ would have traded him if he had stayed. MJ was always just making fun of the kid and yelling at him. The only one i ever saw trying to help him was Laitner. And when him and Laitner were in at the same time he seemed to do much better. I really think Kwame will explode for a HUGE season this year without MJ on his back and with someone who believes in him with Eddie Jordan.

Bosh for Kwame......hell no Bosh is tiny he's gonna get destroyed with those guys that have actual muscle.

Bosh is Kwame 3 years ago, we don't want that again. Actually Kwame has gained some muscle and heard he is working his arse off right now. Bosh according to some experts won't be able to put a lot of muscle on, he is way to thin.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Bosh is a few years away from contributing. Whereas IF (and I understand that IF is the operative word here) Kwame is ever going to do anything as a Wizard, it will be much sooner than Bosh if Bosh had come here in his place.

can kwame light it up for 50% from the 3point arc? hell no. v he does have to get some muscle, but he can handle the rock like a gaurd, can shoot 70% form FT's, can take the ball and post up... and loves to play defense! complete player.

bosh is gonna have game like garnett in a few years... that is why toronto wouldn't make any trades for him. bosh is also incredibly smart, something kwame never seemed to be.. poor kwame also seemed to never be in the game mentally, don't know how much of that is jordan's fault... he better be a completely different player this year or i will start to be talking about... B-U-S-T...

common now, he showed flashes of how great he can be in the beginning of last season, who here was thinking "BUST" when he was putting up 20points and 15 rebounds at the start of last season??

then what happened? doug collins started benching the poor kid for every mistake he made and when he played after that, he looked scared to even touch the ball because he didnt want to be benched, doug collins and MJ RUINED kwame, and i hope kwame comes back, puts up 40 points and 20 rebounds on WHOEVER TEAM(god help them) that MJ buys:finger: :finger: :finger:

Yeah, I was very disappointed when Jordan came back last year because I knew that there would be problems with him messing with our younger players. This year should be great, we have some great young big men, Haywood, Borwn, Thonas, Jefferies, we should be great we just need a fast point guard who can pass. Get rid of Lue and Laetner

laetner is a good backup, he has an outside shot to spread the opponents defences..

I have to second the motion to get rid of Lattener. I have never liked him and It just pissed me off more when Collins decided to Bench Kwame last year in favor of Lattener in so many games. Kwame may play well with Lattener in the game, but whenever I see Lattener play, he's playing horribly. I'd much rather have Eton Thomas and/or Brendon Haywood in the game with Kwame.

Lue is fast enough. He didn't push the ball because Collins did not ask him to. Laettner will be a very solid backup. He lacks athleticism but he shoots well, rebounds well and is smart.

If the Wiz don't sign Claxton or Lue, something tells me Blake will be one tough kid who can get the ball up quickly, like he did at MD, set up other guys and make the occassional 3 pointer.
