In 2003 the Air Force Academy decided to change some of the people in command. One particular cadet did not like the idea of this so he emailed people. But who did he email? His commanding officer at the Academy? Maybe the commanding officer of his commanding officer......No, this young lad took it upon himself to email the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force. And this young whippersnapper actually got a response....well, 2 responses actually, one from the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force, and the other from the Secretary of the United States Air Force.

Dear God, I would never directly email a general unless I knew him. Not as a fourth class cadet, not as a first, not even as a 2nd lieutenant. There's a chain of command for a reason.

Wow . . .
The dude had balls. He had **** for brains, but he had balls. Or incredible stupidity. Either way, not what you'd typically expect from the Air Force :D no, now that I think of it, its exactly what I'd expect from my counterparts in the air force :silly:

Reminds me of a joke.
There's four Commanders, AF, Marine, Army and Navy; sitting around the battle field when of course the conversation turned into a pissing match about what branch of the service was the best or at least had the most balls.
The Navy CC touted that they had the most balls and ordered one of his pilots to land his plane on the deck of a carrier blind folded. The Pilot saluted sharply, climbed into the plane, took off and when he attempted to land he missed the deck completely and burst into a ball of flames. At this time he looked at the other CC's and said "see, I told you the Navy has balls".
The Army CC say's "That ain't nothing, Private fall on this grenade" at which time he pulls the pin and throws it. The Private takes off and jumps on the grenade sacraficing his life for his CC. He looks at the other three CC's and says with a smirk "See, that takes balls"
The Marine CC wasn't impressed and called over a young Corpral and say's "Marine charge that hill with nothing but your bayonet and take out all the enemy" Without hesitation the Marine salutes sharply, charges the hill and takes on an entire squadron of the enemy by himself until he's mowed down. The Marine CC looks around and say's "See, that takes balls."
The AF CC is completely unimpressed. He yells out Airmen and a little one striper comes walking over at which time the CC say's "Airmen, I want you to jump in that HUMMV and drive into the heart of Baghdad, right into the heart of the enemy and fight them all bare handed. The Airmen looks at the CC and say's "**** that, are you crazy" The AF CC looks at the other three CC's and say's "Now, that takes some freaking balls!"

This would be the equivalent of my e-mailing the Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, to complain about something. No chance in hell I'd ever pull a stunt like that.
Did this kid graduate?

Who ever accused a military officer of having common sense anyway? From that e-mail, that cadet was progressing just fine.

Robert Walsh landed on his feet. He's on the runway maintenance crew at Thule AFB. In Greenland.
No. I don't know this for a fact.

Wow. Not only did he have the balls to email the AF's top general, but he did so to question a command decision made by the general and the higher-ups in the AF command structure. AND THEN went on to tell the general that he was WRONG because he didn't like the idea of a woman leading the cadets. I mean, the misogyny was just dripping off the email. He refers to the outgoing commandant by rank/ last name; the incoming commandant he referred to as "this woman." And it was loaded with grammatical errors. That's no ballsy, it's just idiotic.
