I am taking my mom to the Big Apple for her birthday (and to see the Daily Show) and I am looking for a good place for dinner. I wanted to spend less than $200 for 3 people.

I am looking for a sushi place or good fusion restaurant. A friend suggested Macondo on E. Houston, but I don't want mexican.

Any ideas?

well do you want some "fancy" setting or what?

if you dont mind a "buffet" setting.. Ichi Umi is a good to go. It used to be called under Todai franchaise like one in Fair Oaks mall.. When I went there few years ago it was still called Todai and its selection of food was better than Fair Oaks Mall

here is a recent review of the place

if you mom is not a picky sushi eater then this might be a good choice since she can try out alot of different stuff...

still pricy in the $30 per person so you wont feel like a cheap ***** for taking her to a buffet lol...
