Jeff Mosier

The Dallas Cowboys are making a last-minute push to sell out their new stadium, and this time, the sales pitch is in person.

The team is holding a "Select-a-Seat event" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Fans can go to the stadium to see season ticket seats that are still available. Those remaining seats will be tagged so fans can spot them easily.

The Cowboys have sold most of their tickets via their Web site. Team spokesman Brett Daniels said a few thousand season tickets are still available and the stadium is about 95 percent sold out. The Cowboys' first preseason home game is Aug. 21 against the Tennessee Titans.

I think Jerry is about to find out the same thing that Redskins fans have finally learned. When your stadium has too many seats, there is no need to be a season ticket holder.

My guess is that any Cowboys fan could probably go to 4 or 5 games a year in the best seats in the house for about 1/3 of the price of a season ticket package in the worst seats just by being active in the secondary market. In this economy, you would be crazy to own season tickets.

(And for the record, the same is true here).

Zero. The local affiliate will buy any unsold seats in order to broadcast the games. Happens with the Dolphins all the time.

Either that or ticket brokers will buy huge blocks (like they do at FedEx) in order to give the impression that they are sold out.

Are the remaining seats regular or club seating? Club seats don't count against the NFL blackout rules. The Giants still have club seats available, but all regular seating is sold out in their new stadium so there is no chance of a blackout.

I'm sure Jerruh will give tickets away before he gets bad press.

December should have a TON of empty seats.

you still haven't answered the question, how many blackouts do you envision in Dallas?

Jerry is in the same position as Danny. Neither can ever allow a blackout because it would destroy their entire business model.

Please, this thread was meant to inform Skins' fans about the fallibility of that great billionaire Jerruh Jones.

He's got SO MUCH MONEY, empty seats don't mean a thing to him!

Seriously.

Do you have a CZ account?

Just guessing, but I'd say many on CZ agree with 89% of what I say.

Come...join the majority.

Well if it's 95 percent sold out, id imagine not very many. Even if Jerry cant sell the rest to fans, someone will buy them out so they can broadcast the games.

No doubt about it....The Cowboys will be marched out in all the mags as 11-12 and possibly 13 W's! When reality is...they'd be lucky to win 10 this year, Afraid 9-7 is what this team is headed for...I sure hope not

Wow.. I dont post over there, but none under 11 wins? It's not easy to win over 11 games in the NFL, especially in a division as tough as the NFC East. With every team having six tough division games, I could see the winner of this being 11-5, with the others pretty close behind.

There will NEVER be blackouts in the NFCE as long as we live. Not even Dallas.

All four NFCE owners are evolved way beyond using black out threats as a marketing tool to sell seats. It doesn't matter if they don't sell every seat in the stadium and it hasn't mattered for years. No NFCE owner in his right mind would black out a home game.

Notice which teams still take advtage of the NFL's antiquated home black out rule.

Nice to let someone pick a seat when they're essentially going to need a new mortgage to buy them. LOL.
