Okay, for starters I'm not going to bash the offense like In previous "I hate to say it, but our offense in trouble" thread.

But let's look at the facts!

The offense line is adequate but not dominant in the running or passing game, period. The QB is average and we have no real backup to compete with him. For all you Colt and wanting Todd Collins fans, forget it. Also, I know I'm going to get smack about this. But our best bet for a true QB for next year was to sign Vick, period. But now, we go into the draft next year looking for our franchise QB, bank on it. Further, not only our franchise QB, but some more young bonified OL and hopefully LB's. If not, the Washington Redskins will be players in free agency sweepstakes once again next year.

Jim Zorn. okay, hopefully this offense gets going through out the rest of the pre-season and hopefully regular season. If not, who see's Jim Zorn coming back with some real coaches with resumes coming out of retirement?

The fact of the matter is the defense can hold up for now with younger players in key positions. But we can defintely use some better LB's to compensate an aging London Fletcher and everyone else outside of Orakapo. We went into the supplemental draft to grab Jarmon to exclude us from drafting another DE next year and the signing of Haynesworth to sure up the DL. We drafted young CB's the last 2 years which we're banking on for the future.

But here's the scenario. After further review and some observation, It seems to me that Danny and Vinny Cerrato has somewhat of a gameplan. But it may be by default and no other choice in the matter. Change has to happen in order for this franchise to move further and they decided to pass on Vick and give Jason the benefit of the doubt.

Even Samuels stated Jason has like 5 or so games to get it right, so I heard and read. Also, did anyone see the look on Portis's face in some of last nite photos when talking to Campbell on the sideline (see Washington Post)? It wasn't a look of confidence IMO or maybe I'm just reading into things.

Next year. We're somewhat set on defense with vets and younger guys to step in. But on offense it's a totally different story, so why try and continously beat a dead horse? I know we need stablity, but is Zorn, Campbell and our aging OL what you wanna try and stabilize?

We go into next year signing OL or drafting OL. We draft one of the Qb's coming out of college because more then likely will be picking around 12th again. And since we're going with a newly drafted QB, newly arriving OL's, we sign one of the head coaches coming out of retirement to again try and revamp the lowly offense.

Why is the question? but why not is the answer. We haven't really made any head way IMO and if you guys think suddenly our offense will start playing lights out during the season forget about it. With our offense having to play against our 2nd string defense to get anything accomplished, it tells the story. Also, the rest of the pre-season will tell the total story and teams will still understanding we cannot block blitzes properly. Our QB is still somewhat hesitant and indecisive and our young WR's are still learning.

Also in practices of course our defense looks dominant and over takes our offense. But again, you have to look at who our defense is going up against. Guys like Tyron and others look great against our offense, but what about other teams?

So, all of the above regarding the offense will be Danny's breaking point and mine also to be honest. And is Zorn really the answer to light a fire under this team and strategic planning and game calling on the fly?

Look! I love the Redskins and wish them all the best during the season for all of our sakes. But don't be expecting no miracles out of this offense this year. And if you do, your only setting yourselves up for dissapointment.

Change will be own the way unfortunately again next year.

After one preseason game you have us being the 12th worst team in the NFL? A little premature, don't ya think?

Well, if 8-8 have us picking 12th again, so be it.
