Now they are waiting to see his response. Looks as if the O's are starting to make some good moves. If they get a real #1 picther and a solid DH this team could surprise next year.

it will take more than that. he already said he wasn't happy with that offer.

As nice as having Ponson back next year, it's not looking good. They offered him $5 mil/yr. when he's making $4.5 mil. this season, if they don't offer more, he's going to test the market. I saw an interview with Ponson this morning, and he said that he "hopes that offer is just a starting point".....I guess he wants more $ so he can be able to make it to ALL the Metallica shows next year.

we'll end up with some prospects in return for a trade. i don't think the o's are gonna pony up what he could make as a FA.

He's not as good as his record indicates. He's beat the Yankees once in his career, and most of his wins this year have come against crappy pitchers. He would be a good #3 starter somewhere, but not an ace. I'd be happy to raid the Braves for some prospects for him.
