...or, for the entire year, for that matter.
His market value is the highest it will ever be...his sack production is likely to take a serious hit this year since Canty and Ellis are gone.
And, why risk an injury...it will kill him financially.
Fortunately, he learned how to take some plays off last year without anyone noticing.

I'd say if anything he'd have incentive to work harder, to prove last season wasn't a fluke and to really emphasize the fact that he's one of the NFL's premier defensive players.

If he puts up 12-17 Sacks a year I am fine. 20+ a year is not an easy task.

Ware has everything to play for and has never been known to take plays off anyway.
The 100 million dollar man, who has been known to be lazy anyway, has nothing to play for any longer except for pride.

If I was a Cowboys fan I would be pissed if I found out Ware was taking it easy a couple of games. The NFL is only 16 games long and every single game counts.

If you had a player that recorded 20 sacks, you would be mad about something?
right :hysterical:

RVING — Michael Strahan can’t figure out how DeMarcus Ware didn’t break his NFL single-season sacks record last season.
Ware had 19 sacks with two games to play, only 3.5 behind the record Strahan set in 2001.
Ware finished with 20.
"I thought DeMarcus should’ve done it," said Strahan, now an analyst for Fox Sports. "He had a great opportunity to do it."
The Cowboys weakside outside linebacker knows exactly why he didn’t get it: He left five sacks on the field last season.
Twenty-five sacks would have set every record — official and unofficial — in team and league history. The Cowboys recognize the 23 sacks Harvey Martin had in 1977 as their team record, even though sacks didn’t become an official NFL statistic since 1982.
But John Turney, an NFL researcher, said game books show Martin had 20 sacks in ’77. Hall of Fame defensive end Deacon Jones claims he had 26 for the Los Angeles Rams in 1967, but again, Turney said play-by-plays don’t agree. Turney has Jones with 20 sacks in ’67 and 22 in both’64 and ’68.
So the unofficial league record for sacks, according to Turney, is the 23 that Detroit Lions defensive end Al "Bubba" Baker had in 1978.
Still, Deacon Jones has informed Ware that Ware will have to get 26.5 sacks to end all debate.
"He knows," Jones said in a phone interview.
Ware appreciates what Jones did as the game’s first great pass rusher. The two met at an awards banquet last year, and Jones took Ware under his wing. They talk regularly about pass-rushing techniques.
"Our relationship will improve, because I think he’s potentially one of the great football players to come around in a long time," said Jones, who had 173.5 career sacks. "You’ve got to listen to your coaches and do all those things that it takes to be a good ballplayer, and you can’t rest on what you did last season or last game. It will get tougher."
Ware, 27, is expecting that this season.
He no longer has Greg Ellis starting at strongside outside linebacker. Ellis had 25 sacks in 35 games opposite Ware. The other three outside linebackers now on the Cowboys’ 53-player roster have a total of 4.5 career sacks among them.
Ware knows he’ll receive even more attention — if that’s possible — from offenses this season. That’s why he added some new moves in the off-season, and why the Cowboys will move him around more than last season.
"I know what I can do," Ware said. "It’s all about getting out there and doing it again, and that’s the hard part now. Teams are going to be gunning for you. Now the pressure’s on. Can you still do it?
"You always have that goal of trying to get it again, but you’ve always got to look at it as how effective I can be. Can I be even more effective than I was last season? I feel like from what I’ve done, what we’re doing right now, I can be."
Since 1982, no pass rusher has had back-to-back, 20-sack seasons. Ware, whose 20 sacks led the NFL last season, could become the first. Twenty-six would make him first on every list.
"He’s such a great player on the field, but in a sense that he’s an understated player," Strahan said. "He had 20 sacks last year, and I don’t understand how he didn’t win the [NFL] Defensive Player of the Year award."
"For anybody who knows football, you appreciate what he does ... [and] for me, I have all the respect in the world for him. If there is anybody I’d love to see break that record, he would be that guy."

Tr1 has an anti-ware agenda he has to promote. Actually a few of them, the first being that he's not that good, and the second being the Cowboy's can't resign him, and the third that he's going to be lazy and not risk getting hurt.

In my opinion DeMarcus Ware is a really good player. Some might even say a top defensive player in this league. I think he has a really good work ethic and the type of demeanor you want your players to have on and off the field. IMO, if simply continues what he's doing, the money will follow.

"It's a disgrace when DeMarcus Ware comes off the field just so I can get in the game and when the coaches tell him to come on the field, he tries to hide so I can play," Ellis said on Irvin's show. "And you're telling me we're trying to win the Super Bowl?"
Just the facts.

He took a real good shot and did sit out a series due to a stinger, NOPE not a single sack vs a very bad off line and immobile slow release QB.

And I used to think that Bledsoe was slow... Their QB made Bledsoe look like Vick.
I can only think of a few plays that generated pressure quickly. On one, Spencer was obviously held. He would of either sacked the QB or forced an incompletion.
Ware got his hands on him a couple of times. Of those, I only remember him having one real shot at him. Was not at all impressed with our front 7...and I am scared that the reason I was impressed with our back 4 was because of the randomness behind Leftwich's throws.
If we play like this against the G-Men next week, it'll make the Philly game from last year look like a 'good' game.
