We lost one game....and everybody acting like we going 0-16.If we would of came back and won, half of this crap everybody speaking right now wouldn't be here. And don't nobody dare call me a delusional fan. I saw the damn game from start to finish. I know the defense struggled, I know JC made some questionable decisions. I know Zorn made some plays that drove me crazy too.But damn, its only ONE GAME!!! I'm just as pissed as everybody else is (not quite), but I can be somewhat reasonable. Hell, the Lions got killed by Drew Brees..they have no hope. We barely loss to the Giants. Now I know everybody is gonna jump on me for having optimism, but someobody has to hand out the chill pills to you people

This site really needs a "timeout" or penalty box. I love coming to this board to read interesting insight. But during the season... win or lose... this board is virtually unreadable. We have 200+ HOF Coaches that have all the answers and fill up the board with their garbage. The people that are talking about us going 4-12 or worse are out of their damn minds.

Come'ere, I'll show ya where to stick that chill pill.......

It's over I tell ya! There's no coming back form losing the 1st game of the season, think about it.... the 1ST GAME, do you hear what I'm saying?!? We lost a game, there is no hope of coming back from that. Take your delusional ideas and skip through the poppy fields with Dorothy and her little dog. We only deal in cold hard facts around here.

Sheesh, you try and make it sound like we have 15 more games to try and make something of this year before we just give up, that's crazy talk around these parts. Come back and talk to me when the sky has fallen on your head and knocked some sense in to you!

We won't go 4-12 and I havent seen anyone saying that. We should expect to go 8-8 again so that the brain trust thinks we are just a piece or two away from contending, rather than ever waking up to realize this team suffers from systemic weaknesses and needs extensive revamping.

Here is what you fail to realize. WE JUST LOST A DIVISION GAME. We only get 6 of them a year. You wanna make the playoffs. You have to come out of the NFC EAST with a winning division record. Not only that. We are not beating elite teams in the NFL. We are not winning BIG games. These things matter if we want to have a winning record much less playoffs. So on those two points it is more than just the 1st game. Sucks the NFL scheduled us that way but no excuse. WE MUST WIN THE BIG GAMES at any time of the year.

I think it's because 1) this is what we've been waiting for, and 2) this is the Execution, or lack there of, that we didn't Expect!!!
Most people felt like we were saving something for week 1 that we weren't seeing in Pre-Season and we would Execute it against our Week 1 Division rivals in their house. But that didn't appear to be the Case. So I think it's kind of expected that everyone is just a bit disapointed.

Fans like you really need a reality check. It's the teams attitude, desire, drive, and commitment that comes into scrutiny when the continue their rich tradition of losing.

The Skin fans deserve a more competitive team, and that's the bottom line.

In all probability, this team will saunter into week 7 against the Eagles at 3-3 or 4-2. There will be a ton of people who believe we're ready to turn the corner, and we, as a fanbase, will end up with egg on our face again as we watch our average offensive line, aging receivers and running back, and overrated defense blow another critical crossroads game. The only thing about this year's team that has changed is that they are a year older, slower, and fatter. It's still the same damn group that has underachieved for 5 years.

Let's be honest, this was a huge game, and we had a lot to prove. This year is not going to be a total failure. Going on the road into New York against a superior Giants team for your first game is no easy task, and we came out on the losing end.

There were tons of things we have to work on, and I think next week Zorn's play calling will improve dramatically. That's the thing that killed us this week. We have a fairly soft schedule for the next couple of weeks, so I have faith that we can bounce back and get some wins.

And a team that scored it's only td on offense in garbage time against a prevent defense.

Here is the thread we see every year at this time. Well most of the time I agree with these threads, but those days are over. I'm sick of the piss poor product on the field. I don't know who has to go Vinny would be a good start. All I know is this team isn't any better than last year. I thought that was the goal was to get better. Thank you for th chill pill advice. Skins fans need it. I was tracking the game online (couldn't watch it here in Oregon) and after two possessions the offense was getting e-crucified: 3 and outs happen, people. Drives ending without points happen far more often in the NFL than drives ending with points. The anomaly in quarter 1 wasn't our drives, it was theirs. If you consider the 4th down stop an easy FG, their first 3 drives ended in points. That's bad D.

Like I said, I couldn't watch the game; I watched the Cards/SF. That game: big game for SF, underdogs, on the road. What happens? Their offense does...OK, Hill has average numbers (worse than JC's), Gore does a little; but, they were physical, they forced mistakes, they hit Warner a lot, they didn't blanket the Cards weapons but gave up 10 yard chunks and eventually got a 3rd down stop, they hit every field goal and punted the ball deep. If the Skins D does that we win.

Listen folks: more mistakes happen when passing the ball. Ints and fumbles. Safe play calling can win games if coupled with decent special teams and great D. We had neither of those today and that's OK.

We'll win again some day, and it will feel the opposite of right now.

roger that. and the reason, after an entire off-season to settle in and think things through, that Zorn called another forgettable, Pop-Warner quality game?

face it...nice guy in over his head. throw in a QB who would be an outstanding back-up but simply is a second too slow and you have a recipe for mediocrity.

Yep.

Chill Pill?

Sure, we aren't going 0-16.

Maybe 8-8, maybe 9-7, maybe 6-10. Injuries will be a factor.

What we do know though is that Zorn can't play call his way out of a paper bag, soaking wet, with a cup of gasoline and a cigarette lighter.

Then, even if he does in fact have a quality offense we will never know because he's neutered it down to keep a practice squad quality player starting at QB. A QB that the team has already openly admitted they have 0 faith in as well. No contract, tried to trade him, tried to trade for other QB's.

Would any team really want him as their back up? Come in, fumble a snap, call 2 timeouts, run past the LOS and throw and INT, drop back 10+ yards routinely on passing downs and not step into a perfect pocket while seemingly wearing a blindfold to anything that is going on down field? On the rare occasion he does go down field he over throws the receiver by 10 yards time and time again.

This is with him getting all the attention, all the guidance, all the snaps, all the practice, everything. He sucks, always has, always will. I have no idea what Zorn thinks he is doing. It makes no sense. I'd rather see him sign Daniel back and start him at this point if he doesn't want to go with Collins.

It's beyond moronic to pretend year after year that the Redskins have this mystical offense that it takes years to learn when rookies start all over the league and succeed. Nobodies like Hill or Croyle look like All Pro's next to our 5 year guy. Daniel could come in today and likely make something happen and actually learn stuff as he plays.

If you want to see a bad quarterback - let's go on and trade Jason Campbell for Jake Delhomme. You talk about a playoff-caliber team that's really being stopped because of bad quarterback play? Jason wasn't even terrible in this game, what with only having Randle El and Cooley open at all and the fact that we gave up on the run way too early. We could have Jake Delhomme. I think he damn near matched JC's pick total from last year in one game.

I don't think he's at the far end of the "suckage" spectrum. I just think he has a fundamental weakness in his recognition to delivery timing that limits him from being effective under consistent duress - something that happens with predictable regularity when playing the best defenses in the league. he's the sort of QB who has to have a near perfect supporting cast...especially on the line...to perform to his maximum. he's not the sort of QB who makes those aronud him better. so...part of the dilemma stems from JC's evident limitations...and part of it stems from the FO's inability to either elevate the talent level of the supporting cast (or find an improved replacement for JC). As an example of the supporting cast: take our center...nice guy...has his moments. but since he arrived he has consistently been physically manhandled by larger, athletic NTs and DTs. The FO hasn't fixed that problem by finding a bigger more athletic center. They need to make up their minds: fix the QB position or build a dominant, young line.

and this...sadly...isn't going to change.

Comparing Jason to Jake Delhomme is just ridiculous. Delhomme has gotten it done in the past. He has taken his team to the playoffs and the super bowl. Jason hasn’t even sniffed the playoffs.

It was the exact same story around here last year when we lost to the Giants in week 1. Actually, I think it was much worse. People always give thoughtless knee-jerk reactions after a loss. Just ignore it and try and find the good threads. Or if you really want to avoid the stupidity, just wait until friday or saturday to come back when people have already moved on to the next game.
