The map on redskins.com has just been updated. It includes the new copper lot. Note that Barlowe Rd does not end at the Copper lot as shown on the map. You must make a left turn from Barlowe Rd onto an unpaved and unmarked road to access the copper lot. There should be a parking staff member there to flag you in. There is also a change in the C and D lots. It's now showing the purple lot has been narrowed and extended into the C lot along the sidewalk. The orange area in lot C has been pushed back away from the sidewalk. Interestingly, it also shows the red lots as "cash parking".
Also they have removed the A through H markings from most of the lots on this map. Just know the gates and lot markings revolve around the stadium clockwise starting with Lot A which is marked.

They must have updated the map late this afternoon. I checked right after my copper passes were delivered. The map makes the copper look a lot farther than than it seems. I agree about the "cash lots". Do you think the Redskins made a new arrangement with the church on those lots?

How much is the cash parking? Are there any other nearby places to park?

I'm very surprised they're recognizing the non Redskins cash lots on this map.
Maybe Danny quietly struck an 11th hour deal to lease the Jerhico lots for cash parking.

That's my thinking.

There must be at least 30,000 on site parking spaces today if JKC boasted of 23,000 on opening day of 1997.
I predict copper and gray parking passes for $15-$20 on Craigslist by the Saturday before home games.
Now that cash parking has returned and everyone and their mother has a parking pass with their STs, the market is saturated.

Does anyone else miss lining up at RFK off of 395 with everyone beeping their horns in the underpass? Back then i think parking passes were very limited and we HAD to pay cash.. ahh memories.

Which lot is the bus/RV lot? My brother is coming in on a bus trip from Va Beach, and I want to give him directions to the ES/RR tailgate. He's kinda familiar with the stadium, as he has tailgated with us over the years in the Blue Lot, but now I think he's ready to step up.

During the preseason games, the cost for the Jericho red lots was $35. I see no reason it would change ...

Its just south of the copper lot marked in Burgundy, that whole lots USED to be the RV lot but they scaled it back and its now half green. Not sure why they removed all of the labels on the maps.

That's perfect.
It'll be a much shorter walk to the tailgate, than it was to the Blue lots.
Thanks Man!

I once got stuck under there for what felt like an eternity before a Dead show.
I quickly realized why my dad always took H St. NE to get to the Skins games from NOVA.

Redskins games were much more enjoyable than a dead show LOL
Why the heck did he go that rout? I lived on the south side of Arlington.. 395 was close by, straight shot.. and it never got backed up bad on game days unless you waited until the last hour to try and get into the parking lot.

Redskins.com now has new wording/descriptions to go with the new map.

and for anyone interested seems like the old red lot will be operated by Jericho:
Cash Parking
Cash parking is available at and operated by Jericho Church, located on Jericho City Dr., and easily accessible via Arena Dr.

Thats the first I've heard of the 'burgundy' lot next to the copper lot.
Edit: forgot they moved the RV/Bus lot furthur out.

Not when I was 16 and a lifetime of winning at RFK was taken for granted.
Not to mention the final years of the Dead at RFK were during Pettibone and Norv's first year.
Why the heck did he go that rout?
No one from NOVA took H St./Benning Rd.
We weren't yet tailgating in those days and had no use for the always crowded lot 8. We'd park along Oklahoma Ave. NE at 12:30 with plenty of time to get to our seats up in 507 before kickoff. You couldn't do that if you took 395 to lot 8.
After the game we'd cruise right down H St. to the 395 tunnel while Lot 8 took hours to clear out. We'd listen to Ken Mease give the traffic reports as Sonny and Sam were doing the post game interviews in the locker room.
Sorry for hijacking the thread folks.:silly:

Why would they take the lot numbers out of the map?
Seriously the lack of attention to detail is an earmark of this current regime.

If you have a Orange parking pass can you park in the Green lot? I remember last year you could do this. Will you still be able too? Anyone know?

My understanding is the team no longer allows that.

Is the copper lot the lot that used to be called the "tailgate lot", a cash lot that was 25 in a gravel parking lot? Thats where I usually park, and I am trying to confirm if it is still there or if the Skins bought it. The search function is not working for some reason and I know there is a thread about this topic.

Yes, the Copper lot was formerly the "tailgate field".

You are correct. But there's a small private paved lot at the very corner of Brightseat and Landover Rd that's $25 cash. There's also the red lot which is now cash parking for $35 run by the church.

Maybe this will look familiar to someone who might have parked there and know anything about the Grey Parking Lot:

Check the street view and you'll see the big red building.... we used to be able to park there as early as we wanted and stay as late as we wanted....
