while i was thinking this would be a strong suit this year, watching the giants game, once again my attention was drawn to the no tackling corners of smoot, and hall. i dont know if it is the scheme or what, but, landry is not a cover safety as well. he just considers himself a tackler. horton is the only def back that seems to have a nose for the ball. am i missing something?

only the fifty other threads about the defense sucking
the secondary does suck especially hard though. even when the defense is playing lights out i always feel that the other QB is going to make a big play every single time

We were counting on a great pass rush to create opportunities for the secondary. Against the Giants, the pass rush was pretty much negated. Negated due to our lack of a blitz and overall conservative D scheme of Blache. Vanilla just like when he was a DC in Chicago.

I think our secondary will be fine. These guys "manned up" to having a bad day, especially Hall.
"You know, we definitely need to tackle better, myself probably No. 1 on that list," he said. "We've got to get off the field on third down, that's the money down, that's the most crucial part of the game is third down. We've got to get off the field. Hell, I even made a stupid mistake on special teams, you know, got a block in the back. So all around, I just didn't execute and play to my ability at all."
