Going to the Skins vs. Bucs game on 10/4. Just booked my flight, but I'm having a hard time finding a hotel. Any recommendations?

Looking for something under $100/night that has some nearby night life of some kind (or even just a hotel bar?).

Also, not having to worry about being mugged/shot is always a plus :)

If you're looking for nightlife, you might want to consider staying in DC and taking the metro to the game.

I'm staying at the Holiday Inn Express - Largo for the Cheifs game....does anyone know if there is still a shuttle to the stadium from there? I stayed there a few years back and there were tons of buses that came to that area (Basil Ct) and shuttled everyone to the game. Just wondering if I can count on a shuttle or if I need to start searching for a parking pass. I can call them and ask them, but I know the shuttles before were not owned/operated by the hotel.

To be honest with you; I think they shut the shuttles down; however, buses still run. If you are staying where I think you are (we stayed at the Raddison) you can walk it to the stadium in about 15 minutes. ;)

We stayed at the Raddison in Largo; the other poster is staying at the Holiday Inn Express - nice lit area - Raddison has a bar.

Have FUN at the Bucs game!

Thanks. Yeah, I think the Radisson is right there too. I looked at Google Earth a while back and didn't see a way to walk there without having to cross a major highway/freeway. I'll look again. Thanks.

I am going to share this with you because it was a great deal for me.

There is a Hampton Inn in Sterling near Dulles Airport. It's about 45 minutes from the stadium but it's a very, very nice hotel.

Which I only paid $50 for.

Thanks for the replies! Still open to suggestions.

Radisson and Holiday Inn Express are both over 150/night for those dates. If it comes down to it, I'll spend it... but was hoping to get a bit cheaper than that. The bar in the hotel is a definite plus though!

For $20, I'll tell you where the players stay the night before the game. Autographs/pictures are tougher to get than they used to be due to security, but the guys are always milling around with friends/family between meetings and dinner and what not. Its always fun to see them at night and the morning before the game.

honestly - this is my advice

Look for a hotel near 'Adams Morgan' in DC - its a huge bar area in DC. Just take metro to the game.

I stay at hotels there all the time when we go to adams morgan (we live 40 minutes away, but we go to get hammered and noone can drive).

you don't want to party around the staidum... just take metro to the stadium, and party in DC.

You could also go to george town... but adams morgan is the **** on a friday/saturday night. just a giant sea of drunk people

Nice! I actually have a friend that lives near Adams Morgan and she said she always goes down there. I found some decent rates on hotels in Dupont Circle - which is near there supposedly. Would it be a pain to get to the game from there?

There must be a Heartbreak Hotel somewhere near FedEx. Maybe right on the premises.
