I know we have talked about this to death today but Redskins.com just
posted an article re: Henson (http://www.redskins.com/gen/articles/Henson_Apologizes_For_Post_Game_Twitter_Comments_5 7450.jsp), his twitter comments and his apology --
most notably the article said that the Washington Post failed to print
his apology and "just focused on the mistake" I personally do not
think that is fair and have to wonder, is the Washington Post out to
get the Skins?

The headline was "The Agony of Victory", enough said. I thought it was funny though.

The Post article talks about the apology:

I was excited at first about the 106.7 line up but they are way to blatant with their anti-snyder agenda. It is like pepsi doing a non biased show on cokes business tactics, it does not work. They ran way too hard with the 72 year old STH story and take every pot shot they can at the Skins. Chad Dukes is the worst of them all and has me jumping to Czabens show or the smooth tones of 395 traffic.

I can only imagine how the Skins PR department would handle the media in a city like Philadelphia, NYC, or Boston. :hysterical: We cry about our media here, it is child play to what happens in other cities. The team needs ticker skin IMO.

I understand there is a beef. But the Redskins handle it in a horrible way (again, just my opinion). But then again, I don't know inside information so maybe there is a lot more to it.

There is no doubt there is a anti-Redskin sentiment in the post. Oh yeah, the skins hate the post too.

I thought you were just providing your opinion. Then I read the article, and saw the last portion.

"Henson’s apologies on Twitter and in his Monday media session--as well as Zorn’s comments on the young linebacker--were not fully included in a Tuesday story in The Washington Post. The article focused more on the mistake and not the contrition.

In contrast, while the Post and other media used the incident as an example of irrational behavior, Henson was scheduled to spend Tuesday with more than 40 burn survivors on a tour of FedExField.

Henson arranged this event weeks ago. He lost his 10-year-old brother in a house fire in 1997 and intends to share the story of his family tragedy with the burn survivors."

I can't believe they're taking countershots now. This reminds me of the MSNBC vs FOXNEWS vs CNN crap in the Tailgate.

I don't think the Post is anti-Redskins.

I think they're more anti-Snyder and are attempting to turn public favor against him as best they can.

The Redskins PR people had better be more concerned with the fans and how fed up and pissed off we are at their entire operation. Besides didn't Little Danny start Redskins TV to give the fans an "unfiltered" look at his team. Why does the Skins care what the Post does?

Hey boneheads who have run this franchise. Worry more about learning how to build and run a professional organization and less about the Washington Post okay?

Maybe Dan tells himself the fans booed the Post at the end of the Rams game.

I am of the opinion that if you are a facebook or twitter 'friend' of somebody, you'd better be prepared for them raw and unfiltered. If you can't handle that then, you have no business being in theirs.

I tend to agree with you. The Post is used to the nation's top politicians and businessmen bowing to their wishes. Snyder doesn't, like that or not.

I don't care if the post, the Times, or any other media organization covers it. Henson is deserving a lot of this scorn. The post is the post - they are irrelevant anyway.

From what I understand, there has been a long standing feud between the Post and the Redskins' front office. I believe Snyder even took away their skybox at FedEx. Stands to reason they'd have an axe to grind.

Bad, BAD move for the Redskins to turn this into another pissing contest with the Post. Just stupid PR.

most notably the article said that the Washington Post failed to print
his apology and "just focused on the mistake" I personally do not
think that is fair and have to wonder, is the Washington Post out to
get the Skins?

From Steinberg's Post article, pretty close to the top:

"And by Monday afternoon, Henson sheepishly exited the team's Ashburn training facility, accompanied by several team spokesmen, to apologize for a Twitter-enabled diatribe against fans that provided him his first moment of NFL fame."

And also this, Jenson's apology to reporters:

Henson closed the episode by meeting with reporters to apologize. He declined to discuss his earlier allegations that fans had thrown objects at him, and said he doesn't want to be a target of unhappy Washingtonians.

"I sincerely apologize to all the fans," he said. "I hope to have a long, prosperous career here, and I don't want anybody booing me or being negative towards me. Because if you seen me in training camp, I sat out there for hours signing autographs, because I love to do this, and the fans are really what keep me going."

Again, this is really not the time for the Redskins to lob hand grenades at the Washington Post. It just makes them look dumb.

If the Post is out to get the Redskins, the Redskins are making it awful easy for them.

The Post is always out to get Dan Snyder.
