every year i rank my fantasy positions after doing my homework. here is this years QB list...
1. Vick
2. McNabb
3. Culpepper
4. Manning
5. Brooks
6. Gannon
7. Hasselbeck
8. Garcia
9. McNair
10. Warner (because of injury concerns; could be a steal here)
11. Favre
12. Bledsoe
13. Pennington
14. Green
15. Collins
16. Maddox
17. Brady
18. Ramsey (he'll be my backup)
19. Kitna
20. Plummer
21. Johnson
22. Brees
23. Fiedler
24. Couch
I think Manning, Brooks, and Gannon will prove to be the best values at QB. Each should get drafted in the fourth to fifth rounds, depending on owners avoiding the runs.

How can you put Hasselback before Garcia?!? Garcia is a proven QB three years running.
Hasselback is not proven. He had a good second half of the season last year, and the support of Mike Holmgren. Who in my opinion has too much clout and his support should be taken with a grain of salt.
What has he done that Erickson did not do in Seattle? A big Fat NOTHING.
Where Garcia might be on a downward slope, I do not think it is this year. He can still run, still has the 2nd best WR in the league, double coverage or not.

I would take every QB 8-16 on your list before Hasselbeck. He has never been a reliable fantasy starter. He had a flash in the end of the season last year, but this guy never does anything.
Were you :high: when you put this list together?
:silly:

I just noticed he had Hasselback before Favre as well. What was he thinking.
Common Fiedler is not a spectacular QB but to put him 23rd only better then Couch, and put Kitna as # 19.
What league does this guy play in and how many loosing seasons has he endored.

it has to do with the talent surrounding them.
i would say that favre and garcia are better qb's, but i don't think they will put up better numbers this year. i like seattle to win the west, go ahead, call me a homer.
koren robinson is gonna put up huge numbers this year. darrell jackson will also get around 1000 yards... shaun alexander is gonna have 1500... their offense will be sick. i also think they have a better defense than GB and SF (both overrated). SEA made some good pickups (draft and FA) and also got Rhodes.
i have never lost a fantasy football league, four years running...

Why does Trent Green slip so far?

Overall, I think you did a nice job in the rankings. As I mentioned in another thread, I'm high on Collins for fantasy totals. I wouldn't take Favre that high and I like him better than any on the list, but he won't put up the numbers like he used to. Brady would be even lower for me, he looks like he is going down fast to me. Plummer could be worth a later pick as he could be a steal or he could be a bust again. How many years have we been waiting for Plummer to live up to the hype? I know he has been playing for Arizona, but he has talent around this year so it is a make or break season.

I've had him on a couple of teams the past two years and the INT's are what hurts him and inconsitency in the passing game, also. He can throw for 300 yards one week then follow it up with 150 and 2 INT's while Holmes runs up and down the field.

trent green would put up awesome numbers if they could get a solid pair of WR's... they signed morton last year and i thought he would be a nice #1 option, but he has proven to be very dissapointing. they also had some injuries at the position with snoop minnis and sylvester morris (?), don't know if those guys will come back 100% ready for a whole season. and if they do they were still pretty inexperienced...
i really think that boreighter (sp?) could have a solid year... but they still need another besides tony gonzalez to throw to.
collins, i might wait a long while to draft QB and load up on other positions. i think collins is gonna have a big year and will be a steal of a draft pick.

Vick as #1? Good lord. I would have him at 10 or 12. I think he is an amazing player, but he is one of the worst passers that has an NFL contract. Yes, yes, you get fantasy points for rushing...okay, I'll bump him up to 6 or 7. But I'd pick Trent Green or Steve McNair ahead of him.

It all depends on your scoring system...if QB's get extra points for rushing yards, then Vick/McNabb/Culpepper all get added points. If your league is based purely on passing, then Manning/Gannon/Bledsoe get a bump.
I do believe that Trent Green is going to have a good year - third year in Vermeil's system - recievers getting used to the system.
I also think Bledsoe takes a hit...Josh Reed is an unkown commodity...losing Price as a #2 hurts.

Why is Tommy Maddox so low? It can't be based on last year's production or his recievers, do you guys think he's injured or the rest of the league has figured him out or what?
