This is the year to remove the stain of Norv for eternity. No way the Redskins lose to SD with a close score. A blowout is possible, but Norv's teams always chokes with under two minutes to go.

I actually don't think you're too far off. If (big IF) the offense can put up 20 points per game...we could win 10 games with this schedule.

If (big IF) the offense can put up 20 points per game...we could win 10 games with this schedule.

Which has happened 2 times in the last 10 games.

Actually, the Redskins were 6-1 last year when they scored 20+. They would probably be 13-3 this year if they scored over 20 a game. It's not going to happen though.

If the offense can only score 20 points a game like you said, I think defense will stop the opponents... we lost with Giants.. but see how tough are Giants.. they beat Dallas in Dallas in their new stadium with 100K ppl... I think with time our CornerBacks will get better and then defense will be the best in the league.. Offense has to score and I feel that they will start scoring more points soon... Cambell has to perform this is it for him if he wants to make big mullah and this might be it for Zorn... Guys let's be optimistic if nothing else we might have either Grunden/Sherman/Cowher/Dungy...

Although its still early in the season, I don't see the Giants coming in here and losing, especially if they still have something to play for.

The Panthers have struggled out of the gate but are going to be a tough out in their place.

Hell, even the Bucs have Leftwich, who gave us fits last year at the MNF Steelers home game at FedEx.

Skins again looking like a 7-9 to 9-7 type of team.

some of you guys need to relax. The guy who made this thread is optimistic and thats okay because I believe the Skins could end up 10-6 with what is likely to happen with just slight improvement to our offense and slight improvement with our defense BUT...

Nobody knows if Eli Manning will suffer a concussion or if Tony Romo will break a hand or if Brian Westrook will suffer a knee injury. nobody knows what injuries are coming over the next 16 weeks. Heck, nobody knows which way the wind blows or how much snow may come in November to change the outcome of a game. The Redskins CAN finish 10-6 and just becasue you are frustrated over the lack of offense after 2 games, it doesn mean anything so stop being so negative and laughing at the prospect of 10-6. The pitiful start means nothing.

well not much. well it means something. But trust me on this. The Redskins are likely to show a bit more production on offense this week against the Lions and there should be slight improvement as the season progresses. Lucky for us we have 4 very win-able games coming up over the next 4 weeks giving us the opportunity to "get it togehter" before running into Philly, Dallas, and N.Y and all the good teams we will see in the 2nd half of the season.

If we're good enough to win 5 in a row then when we meet Philly we will be good enough to beat them like we did twice last season.:logo:

I know i've bashed campbell, but i still think we have a shot at the playoffs. It took us 3 games to get started last season. But if anyone thinks we are done or is freaking out i doubt they will chill jsut cause you predicted 10-6. it still doesn't change anything regarding our play. Remember this, we are already 0-1 in the nfc east and the giants are already 2-0 within the division.

If we were to beat the Lions and Buccs IF then I'm looking at one game as a deal breaker. Carolina.

If we beat the Lions and Buccs and beat Carolina I see us in the playoffs.

If we can't win all three I think we're in trouble. So, hope for 3-0 in the next three games.

I'm going to take a optimistic approach. With the beating the team is taking this week via the press and ''fans'', I'm hoping it serves as a catalyst to righten what's wrong and serves as motivation for the rest of the season AND get them into the playoffs.

Whatever the case may be, these are the last days to be able to predict the Skins season and have it mean anything. Regardless of what has been shown and what people claim to know, no one truly has a real handle on what the team is going to do. So go strong and bold now however you're gonna go because the answers are on their way.

This defense can not get off the field on third down, sure they looked good against the rams but what defense wouldn't. Wait until Dallas, Phila, Saints, San Diego go up against it.

We're going to go 10-6 because we are going to sweep the Eagles and Cowboys.

Actually, if we do that we should go 13-3. Who else on our schedule should beat us?

But we won't even go 10-6 with a very very joke schedule. It's just the way this team does it.

*Unless some major changes are made like play caller, QB, Mitchell getting time, alridge breaking some runs off. Imagine our defense without having to play run defense at all because we are scoring 24-30 points a game?

Ok...what do you predict the skins to do 6-10? You give your prediction and let's see who is close in Jan 2010...

OK, here goes -- with some reasoning:

1. Schedule sets up exactly the same as last year -- cupcakes in first half, monsters in the second half.

2. No signs so far that offense is any better than last year.

3. Despite definite upgrades in defensive line, the secondary (unlike your prediction) is worse than last year. Springs was a better #1 CB than Hall is, and after you get past Rogers, the drop-off is enormous.

4. Same coach.

5. Same leadership on the field (which is particularly a problem on offense).

6. Same result -- 8-8, miss the playoffs.

There you go. And by the way, my ability to predict is just as amateurish as yours.

If you cannot score more than 10 points / game, there is no way the Skins would end up with a 10-6 record.

Until we score 30 points/game we will not be able to beat the NY Giants, Philly Eagles, Dallas Cowturds, and NO Saints.

since you have admitted being an amateur, let me tell you where I think you made a mistake. u say "No signs so far that offense is any better than last year". Wrong. So far the 20/20 passing game is looking pretty good. That is passing between the 20 yard lines. Also, M. Kelly has shown up. He leads wide receivers in catches and yardage and he is just getting started.

It's only 2 games in but my thinking is that we are cooked. We are an average team with an extraordinary payroll. We are in the toughest division in the league and as much as I'm loathe to admit it, we are the 4th best team in the NFC East. Look across the NFC and with the parity we just don't have much chance. It's sad that going in to week 3 I'm already looking towards next year and who we can draft. ***sigh***

I haven't given up on the season at all. We've only played 2 games and I think, with some important exceptions (like the red zone), we've played pretty well. We are in the toughest division in the league, but all the division teams have to play each other -- and most will go about .500, giving us a chance to be right in the mix.

We have to focus on beating the teams we should beat, and take it one game at a time. Things will straighten out after a few more games. If they don't, they don't, but I plan to enjoy the games in the meantime. There is absolutely no reason why we can't finish this season in the playoffs.
