With the emergence of the Jets Jets Jets and the regression or should I say non progression of the Skins. I bring this question to the forefront. Did we miss our head coach two years ago. Rex Ryan was right there not getting the job for the Ravens and would have come 45 mins up the road to lead the Redskins. Now in the wake of a the one lose Jim Zorn did not need and Rex Ryan getting the Jets off to a great start there is no choice but to think had we hired RR instead of JZ we would be tougher, nastier and better. I'm sure we could see how fired up the team would be if the head coach would just show a little fire sometime. Hail!

No, we were dead on with our signing. I'd take the QB coach with no HC experience any day over Rex Ryan.....

No one wants to coach for him. Simple as that.

There is not enough space on the internet to list all the things Dan Snyder has missed.

Jim Zorn had proved nothing, Rex Ryan on the other hand had top defensive team and all of his players played hard for him. Verses a QB coach, wow impressive how that working out for us now?

That would've been a great pickup but I doubt Snyder would bring in someone like that. It definitely would have been great to see what he could have down for our defense and hopefully bring some of those Ravens guys with him. Its nice to dream.

You're right. Norv needed to go but Danny Boy should've waited until the season was over. Marty should've been given more than one year. Why would any good coach want to come here when Danny has that kind of history as an owner. Than and the fact that there is no GM to bring in the weapons that the coach wants and needs.

Well, was he even considered here? If so, then yes. If not, then you can't really say Snyder missed on Ryan because it was never an option.

I think it came out that Dan was looking at him as the D coord but yes, he missed on Ryan. I mean the papers were saying we got close to signing the little guy (spags), from NY and look at how awlful he is with the Rams.

The question is, is this owner incapable of hiring a good coach? I mean he wants "his guy". WTF is that?!. Hire a blood and guts no frills guy and see what happens, oh yeah, we had one, Marty. And he fired him after one season! After a winning streak!! This was set up way back then! Gibbs was just a stop-gap.

Hell yeah....but the problem is that Dan's ego would prevent him from hirin someone like Rex. It will NEVER happen. Get used to 8-8 and 7-9 with a ton of excuses.

He may have. But you have to realize that Ryan is doing in NY might not be what he would have done here in DC.
The circumstances surrounding each situation is what makes it unique.
