If no one gets fired, I think Zorn needs to shake up the starters and allow Smith to call the plays. That should be the minimum that happens going into next week.

Has been.
Right on about Zorn, he is about where Spurrier was in 2003.

Why? You don't think he's trying hard? He may not be delivering the goods, but I don't want to see him squirm. I want the Redskins to play professional football, unlike today.

Anyone that blames this loss on Campbell should lose posting ability. 341 yds and 2 TD should be enough for your team to win.

Ummm...really?
You realize the 2nd td and over 100 yards came against a prevent defense that was giving him all the underneath stuff right?
And did you not see his choice of constant is-checkdowns, or his fumble with zero pressure, when he actually pump faked himself?
Or how about early in the game on the 1st drive when he over threw a wide open Moss inside the 5?
I'm not a Campbell basher, but the dude did NOT play a good game. Especially considering how bad that Detroit secondary was....

still, he still had 200-plus yards and a TD in 3 quarters. so if u want to forget his 4th quarter stats, which doesnt make sense cuz u take what the defense gives you, u need to look at his stats as stats from 3/4s the game. his stats were decent and definitely not bad, expecially given that the defense never got him the ball and we couldn't run the ball to save anything. he overthrew moss? alright, but im pretty sure campbell isnt the only one in the nfl to ever overthrow recievers(aka it happens all the time).
campbell isnt the issue. he needs more deep oppurtunites and more oppurtunities to throw while in the red zone

REALLY?!....REALLY?!
look...sorry. i'm the biggest b&g apologist ever in history. let me tell you something about our starting qb:
when the play is called, jc has who he is going to throw the ball to already stuck in his brain. if the d covers that person (usually cooley or sanatana) then we're *U*k*e*d. period. really...that's it. he doesn't have a problem reading d's because he just doesnt...that's right...doesn't. the dude comes from the huddle with one target in mind. if that target is covered...then, well, it's either the rb in the flat, a scramble or a throw away.
jc doesn't read d. period. our offense is hand cuffed because of it. get over it.
we suck. period. and the problem starts with jc....SORRY...

So Zorn didn't expect the Lions to drive 99 yards?
I didn't expect JC to fumble the ball twice
I didn't expect our offense to sputter
I didn't expect our Head Coach to blame the Defense
What I did expect was a team motivated to play and a leader in the huddle to take charge....I guess I expected to much
SkinsFTW
September-27th-2009, 10:46 PM
Seriously. I didn't expect that 20 points a game would be IMPOSSIBLE.
Our defense is pretty good whenever we actually take a 10 point lead. Hasn't happened in 2 years though. Maybe everybody forgot.

The difference between CP and Riggo is that Riggo had an OL.....
JC showed that he could do whatever is asked of him today.
He threw for over 300 yards 2TD's and an INT.
If he had an OL, he would not throw the INT's as much.
Fire Vinny....it was his responsibility to get one and we got Haynesworth and Orakpo.

How many times was JC sacked today?
Hell, was he even pressured when those two balls hit the turf?
16 touchdowns in 19 starts. That's not getting it done.
He got two touchdowns (against the worst pass-D in the NFL), quick let's break out the champagne! But wait, we needed three though...but I guess for the minds of Redksins fans, to throw THREE touchdown passes in one game is akin to climbing Mount Everest.

This is the damn problem. How the hell can he be in good spirits, or even pretend to be? He just undoubtedly embarrassed himself, all his players, and redskins fans all over the world. It's a joke. i didn;t listen to his presser because it would just aggitate me too much. But to hear that he sounded in good spirits makes me upset at him. He should have went out there with a presser that ends up with jim mora on a coors light commercial.

All you can do is laugh at it at this point. It was embarassing week 7, 8, 9, last year. Got worse and worse. Now it's just like watching a looney tunes Wile E Coyote episode.
You know the end result, the only mystery is how they go about killing themselves and making the other team look genius in the process.

Maybe its the pressure, or maybe Zorn just isn't that bright.
Not kicking a field goal on your first possession = stupid.
Stopping a team on third down and giving them another chance by accepting a penalty = even stupider.
Giving Portis only a handful of carries in the first half = downright retarded.
Jim Zorn deserves to be fired. His absolutely awful decisions in the first half cost us the game, and his half-baked offensive schemes will cost us our season.
BleedinBurgNGold
September-28th-2009, 12:32 AM
Leaving points behind on that 4th and goal try started our downfall. That was a horrible decision that he made two weeks in a row. Fortunately it didnt cost us last week but came back to haunt us this week. That tells me Zorn is stubborn as all hell.
He's just not Head Coach material.
Way to go Danny. You found a Gem!

I missed the game, but apparently campbell had an INT and 2 fumbles. It seems like every time he makes one step in the right direction, he takes another one backwards. He still cant win games for us, but Zorn isnt helping him out with his pathetic play calling and general incompetence.
Zorn is not head coach/playcaller material. He's just not very good. In fact, he seems ****ing clueless with is play calls most of the time. The stretch of these 3 games this season, combined with the last 10 games of last season, has got to be the worst stretch of offensive football this team has ever had. It's ****ing embarassing to lose to the lions. I'm embarassed as a fan. Zorn has lost the confidence of his players and the fan base. Its time for a change.

or maybe it's the frustration of losing to lions, knowing nothing you say will be accepted, and most will be taken out of context to be crucified by fans and the media with the aid of hindsight.
to be honest is there any he could have said that would have quenched the blood lust by fans and media?
I'm not condoning anything he said, just stating the obvious.

Agreed. I'm not a huge JC supporter, but this mess so far has nothing to do with him. He's actually played well so far, about the only one on offense that has done anything.

I agree with this, Zorn is too hyper focused on the details to see the big picture. I hope he can right the ship, we're going down...

The man wasn't ready to be a HC and then didn't hire an OC with playcalling experience. This is why we suck. Smith and Zorn are trying to learn on the fly. We need to hire an offensive consultant to help these two out. Only way for things to get better.

its just hilarious that hes willing to forget conventional football rules or call plays knowing the execution isnt there whatsoever all in the glory of the quest for the elusive "touchdown".
ive never heard a coach sound so more pathetic when talking about scoring 7 points.

Come on, Bubba. The team played two of the worst teams in the league in consecutive weeks, two teams with atrocious Defenses. Barely squeaked by one at home and lost to the worst team in history the next and this joker is on the podium talking about "well, this play gives us the greatest chance of success" when it hasn't worked a single time all-season. I mean... you don't expect the guy to admit he isn't OC-quality, much less HC-quality, but this hubris of his is rather undeserved.
